Bok Son was a quaint village nestled in the rolling hills of the Eastern province. The village was surrounded by lush, verdant forests that seemed to stretch endlessly towards the horizon. Ancient trees, their trunks thick with age, towered over the landscape, casting long shadows that danced with the breeze. These forests serve as both livelihood and legend for the villagers. The timber from the trees formed their house, sheltering them from the cruel winter. Whereas the tales of spirits and ancient beings whispered through the leaves on serene nights.

The heart of Bok Son was its marketplace, a bustling hub where villagers traded goods and shared stories. The market was a riot of colours and sounds, with stalls selling everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts. The aroma of freshly baked bread mingled with the scent of wildflowers, creating an intoxicating blend that was uniquely Bok Son. In the centre of the market stood an old stone well, its surface was worn smooth by generations of hands. It was said that the well was enchanted, and its water had healing properties.

The homes in Bok Son were simple but sturdy, built from the local timber and stone. Thatched roofs covered the houses, their golden hues brightening the village even on the gloomiest of days. Each home had a small garden where herbs and vegetables grew in neat rows, a testament to the villagers' connection to the land. Flowers bloomed in abundance, their vibrant colours a sharp contrast to the earthy tones of the buildings.

At the edge of the village lay the Temple of the Ancestors, a sacred place where villagers paid homage to their forebears. The temple, built from white stone, stood on a small hill overlooking Bok Son. It was a place of tranquillity and reflection, where the air was thick with the scent of incense and the sounds of chanting could often be heard. The temple's walls were adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes from the village's history, each telling a story of bravery, love, and loss.

Moon Shin Yu was a young man of twenty-five, born and raised in Bok Son. He was known for his sharp mind and kind heart, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His father, a renowned hunter, had taught him the ways of the forest, and Shin Yu could track a deer through the thickest underbrush or navigate the woods by the stars. His mother, a healer, had imparted her knowledge of herbs and remedies, making Shin Yu skilled in the art of healing.

Shin Yu's home was on the outskirts of the village, close to the forest. It was a modest dwelling, with a small workshop where he crafted bows and arrows, tools of his trade. The walls were lined with books on natural medicine, a testament to his mother's influence. Outside, a small garden flourished under his care, providing herbs for his healing practices.

Life in Bok Son was peaceful, and Shin Yu was content. He spent his days hunting, healing, and helping his fellow villagers. The nights were filled with the laughter of friends and the warmth of family. But beneath the surface of this idyllic life, something dark was stirring. Unbeknownst to the villagers, the forest that had always protected and provided for them was about to become the source of their greatest nightmare. The ancient legends of the forest were not just stories, and soon, the village of Bok Son would be plunged into a battle for survival against a terror that defied imagination.
