Hitoshi Shinsou, someone with what is considered a villainous quirk, is training to become a hero. Which is something he has not been doing for as long as he would have liked. Like everyone else, he believed his quirk to be the main factor for entry into heroics, and as a result, he put off training for longer than he'd like to admit.
This was something he found was wrong, having heard of people who fight mostly quirkless, which was something he would have to do. Midnight in crowds couldn't use her quirk, Snipe just has a gun, and despite Ectoplasm being able to duplicate himself, all he was doing was jumping people.
Shinsou's favourite example was Eraserhead, someone who fought mutation quirks quirkless and evened the playing field against others. Shinsou himself would admit that his quirk would work on all of those types. However, just because his quirk worked tho, doesn't mean he would win easily.
All of that training though led to this moment where it was a make-or-break scenario. Well... technically. You see, UA themselves understand how a lot of quirks won't help in the entrance exam so they have a way to help those with non-combative quirks to join late via sports festival.
The opening ceremony was mostly boring. There were 4 types of robots, 1-pointer, 2-pointer, 3-pointer, and Present Mic didn't exactly mention the 4th one. Well, didn't until a guy with blue hair questioned him about it. Turns out the 4th type was a 0-pointer and was just there as a thwomp... whatever that is.

Tenya Iida would be the first to tell you about how much of a rule follower he was, this part was mostly because of his upbringing with his family of heroes. So following the rules was almost ingrained into his DNA. This being said though, the opening ceremony was something that made his already stiff attitude stiffer.
So it wasn't all that shocking that he asked about the 4th type of robot, something he thought should have been explained along with the others. Turns out that the last one wasn't made with points in mind. Something still felt wrong, like there was a lack of muttering for him to critique.
Iida got onto the bus like everyone else, ready to enter the testing grounds. Upon arrival, he was able to see the faux city. A university like UA seemed to have money to burn if all the robots and a faux city were anything to go off of. Hell, Iida wouldn't be shocked if they had the money to hire All Might.
While Iida was looking around he noticed a girl with auburn hair looked rather nervous. So like his brother had taught him to do, he went over to help her relax, maybe it'll help him relax while he's at it.

Ochaco Urararka was very nervous about this entrance exam. Understandably so if you asked anyone. So it came as a huge shock when she was approached by a person who she recognised from the ceremony.
"It seemed to me that you were rather anxious, so I took it upon myself to come talk to you to relieve tension!" The Guy stated while swinging his arms.
Now, Uraraka would not like to admit it but this was something that eased her already. Enough so that she giggled.
"Thank you. The ceremony psyched me out. UA is somehow bigger than people made out huh?"
"That is correct, my brother said that this was because of quirks that affect height. Imagine someone as tall as All Might trying to enter the average door!"
"I can see that. Like him having to crouch down to enter an actual room," Uraraka said this while slouching herself to add to the statement.
"I must agree! It seems it would rather-" and before the boy could finish another butted in.
