Water pigment paper line
impression color shape define
Pastel hues a misty dream
artist heart shown to extreme
I just stand and watch amazed
as simple brush strokes part the haze
Painting vision on the page
wash on wash complete this stage
My paint by number skill is such
that I don't try my hand at much
The ease and confidence you show
is what with paint I'll never know
I stand or sit in awe of those
with strokes of pen or brush disclose
The character of what they see
to all who marvel just like me
From the dawn of mankind's art
images that played a part
Vital to the soul of man
express ideas as few can
A pictures worth of words I twist
with nuanced shades my spirit kissed
Woven words just hope to brush
the heights in passion driven rush
I paint with words of varied hue
in purple prose and verses blu
Scarlet lines of passion wrought
and anger raging blackness fought
I never know where I might find
inspiration so defined
As to drag my sharpened quill
across the page of it's own will
Here I speak of what's to me
as easy as those paintings be
To those who wield the brush and knife
upon the palette stained with life
For life blood daubs the colors are
pots and tubes and turpy jar
Watercolors gauzy swish
this a master wordsmith's wish
