I'm not sure I qualify as a new poet any longer. I know I have relatively little experience, but a seemingly huge output. I am honored to have friends(fans) enjoy my offerings, and some few who ask My advice.
the best off the top of my head advice I can give is USE SPELLCHECK. and use the proper form of the word that is a homonym Use Maid instead of Made if speaking of a young lady. Use Soul instead of sole if speaking of the spiritual center of a person. Remember your words once published will always be attached to your name. Be proud of your calling and the product you put out.
I am a grand father 26 times over (number 27 is cooking right now).
I am surprised at the number of teens that follow me. and I am honored.
Thank you for your consideration.
"I decided that it was not wisdom that enabled [poets] to write their poetry, but a kind of instinct or inspiration, such as you find in seers and prophets who deliver all their sublime messages without knowing in the least what they mean." Socrates
"Nothing you write, if you hope to be any good, will ever come out as you first hoped. "
