"Oh shit!" Jolene abruptly yells and everyone but Damon turns to face her.

Without any delay, Damon coldly shrugs Aubrey off him as he races towards the direction from which the sound stemmed.

"She's in the laundry room!" Jolene shouts to Damon just a second before he runs to another room.

She slowly glances at everyone with guilty wide eyes.

No one says anything, instead, they sprint after him seconds later, figuring answers are best to be delivered afterwards.

He flings the door forcefully to a side and it makes a bang when it collides with the wall to reveal Rosalie with her back facing him, head drooping. She is kneeling on the ground.

He worriedly rushes towards her.

❁ ❁ ❁

I cock my head up to find silver eyes looking down on me. He's panting heavily and his forehead is a tad wet from sweat.

He looks handsome, like always...

No Rosalie- no!

Remind yourself that you are really like really mad at him!

"Rosalie?" His soft voice calls out to me and I realize my gaze has been fixating on him for a little too long.

I rise up on my feet aware of his eyes still on me. I don't say anything as I turn to face him.

"Are you okay?" He extends his palms out, his gaze scanning me from head to toe.

When he discovers that I'm perfectly fine, his gaze then drifts to the floor to find the handgun laying innocently. He bends down and swiftly collects it.

"Why is there even a gun lying around?" I grimace at him.

"Look, my top is ruined!" I hiss, pointing at my yesterday's top with a hole in the middle of it and a huge black segment of burnt fabric. Basically, I shot it without having any freaking idea because somehow there was a gun hidden under this stack of clothes.

"What the hell am I supposed to wear?!"

"These are not even my clothes, I- I borrowed them from my friend!"

Honestly, Catalina will be so damn mad about this, this is her newly bought top after all and it looks pretty expensive...

"Well, at least you have an opportunity to tell them that you had a wild night." He shrugs.

Is he serious?!

"In all seriousness Damon!" I exclaim, wincing my face and crossing my arms.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." He spreads his palms facing outwards.

Just then the others come rushing in. One by one, they gather behind the threshold, popping their heads in to look at us.

"What happened?" Sam scratches his head.

"Are you okay, Rosalie?" Jolene asks, looking guilty as she bites her lower lip.

"You." Damon shoots her a glare as he slowly turns around.

"Explain this to me, now!" He commands and everyone stiffens up.

"I- I'm really sorry boss, I accidentally dropped it last night." She speaks with a wobbly voice.

"Do you know how bad this could have gotten because of your mistake?!"

"You could have killed her!"

My heart skips a beat when he says that, everyone turns to look at me and I can't help but feel a bit anxious.

"I- I'm sorry boss... It will never happen again!"

"It's okay Damon..." I whisper to him and only him can hear me.

"No, it's not. What if something happened to you?" He turns to face me, scowling his brows.

"Well I-"

Suddenly, my eyes spot Aubrey, who has arrived, making my hatred towards both of them build up again.

"I- I want to go home." I utter then stomp angrily past Damon.

Everyone has to make way for me and they are all surprised by my actions, only Aubrey is smiling sneeringly and I want nothing but to slap her freaking face... But I have to restrain myself from doing so.

"Sam!" I call out to Samuel and he curiously comes over.

"Rosalie?" He speaks as we walk.

"Can you take me home?" I ask.

"You wanna go... Right now?" He demurs, eyeing my outfit, which is Jolene's pajamas.

"Yes."

"It's not like I have anything else with me anyway." I shrug.

"I can ask Jolene to give you something-"

"No, thank you." I cut him.

"Oh okay." He quickly strides ahead after understanding what I want, not wasting any time and I awkwardly follow behind.

❁ ❁ ❁

I get inside his Mercedes, next to the driver seat. Neither of us speaks. The air is kind of tense, but that's really nice of him not to say anything that could possibly worsen my mood, since I seem mad and unhappy. It's also good for me because I don't feel like chatting at the moment. I want to keep my head light.

...

The car finally comes to a stop, right in front of the building.

We literally drove all the way without saying anything.

"Thanks for the ride." I face him and smile politely.

"No problem." He does the same back.

"... And Rosalie?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask-"

"No." I disrupt him before he can say anything.

"He knows why and you all know why, so stop pretending to be confused." I add, annoyed.

"I really don't know?"

"Whatever-" I roll my eyes as I turn to grab the door handle.

"He's a jerk."

"... Just like my ex." I mumble to myself, opening the door with a thud.
