                                 RUBY

In the end, I decided to tell the truth and take the risk.

I take a deep breath and decide to tell the truth. «Yes, I am apart of the Wang family.»

His expression immediately changes, from shock to anger.

He steps away from me, shaking his head. «I can't believe this. You should have told me right away.»

«And you should have asked in a less asshole way,» I retort, feeling anger growing inside me.

«It's not like I'm happy about this situation, you know?»

«You're not happy?» he bitterly laughs.

«Imagine how I feel. Forced to marry someone I don't know and don't want.»

«And you think I want this?» I say, approaching him angrily.

«You know nothing about me and what I've been through. I don't care what you want.»

We enter the gas station in silence, both lost in our thoughts.

I grab a snack and a drink, but I can't stop thinking about our earlier conversation. The tension between us is palpable.

«You know, Wang... you're acting like your father now, the same shitty face and asshole personality»

I turn sharply and look at him with fiery eyes of hatred.

«Don't you dare compare me to him,» I shout.

«You know nothing about my father.»

«Oh, but I do,» he retorts venomously.

«And I see that the talent for being a huge asshole is hereditary.»

«You know what? Fuck you.» My words are venomous as I approach him, my face red with anger.

«fuck you too!» he yells.

«I didn't create this mess. If anyone is to blame, it's our asshole parents.»

I clench my fists and for a moment I think I could hit him.

Instead, I take a deep breath and shake my head, trying to control myself.

«Leave me alone,» I finally say, my voice calmer but still filled with anger.

«I don't want to see or hear from you anymore. Do whatever you want, but stay away from me.»

I slam the gas station door behind me and head towards the car.

My mind is a whirlwind of emotions, between anger, frustration, and a hint of pain. But then I remember I can't leave him there.

He's a little drunk himself, and leaving him alone in this condition would be irresponsible.

I go back, my heart still full of resentment. «I can't leave you here alone,» I say curtly.

«You're totally drunk. Get in the car, I'll take you home.»

Alexander looks at me with a look that mixes surprise and challenge, but eventually sighs and agrees. He gets into the car without saying a word.

The tension is palpable as I drive towards his home. Occasionally, I glance at him, seeing his tense face and clenched jaw.

«You know,» he finally says, breaking the silence.

«I don't care about what you've been through. It's not my concern. But it's not fair that they force us to do this for their business.»
