I was aimlessly walking through the pristine hospital corridors, trying desperately to find the break room – I hadn't eaten in hours, who knew working as a receptionist would be so busy and time consuming. Not paying attention caused me to walk into something, someone. Surgical equipment clattered on the floor, a soft groan earned from the nurse I had walked into.

"I'm ever so sorry." Left my body before I could even process the words mentally. I aided her in picking everything back up, guilt consuming me as I realised the needles had been freshly sterilised.

"It's alright, things happen." The woman responded, tucking a strand of curls behind her ear.

Both of us rose to our feet, finally meeting each other's gaze. She had gorgeous cloudy blue eyes and subtle freckles scattering her pale features, her hair only complimenting the shade of her skin; her plump lips met, closing together tightly to aid in clearing her throat. I still had a syringe in my palm.

I opened it, allowing her delicate fingers to retrieve it, "You looked lost, were you looking for something or someone?" Her voice matched her appearance perfectly, feminine and clear while remaining soft.

"I was looking for the break room."

A low giggle left her body, "Well you were going the absolute wrong direction, it's down the other hall." A faint smile was being displayed, "I don't think I've seen you before either."

My cheeks began to burn, embarrassment consuming me, "I'm the new receptionist... Can't enlist..."

"Oh." Is all that left her before silence broke between us, it was shameful to not enlist but my medical conditions prevented that. "Well, since we're technically coworkers-" She extended her hand to my surprise "-Adeline. Adeline Jameson."

I couldn't help but smile, most women wouldn't bat an eye in my direction knowing I couldn't serve, "Steven. Rogers." Our hands met, allowing me to feel how soft her hands and fingers were, it was like touching silk.

"JAMESON!" A male voice shouted behind us, making Adeline jump and goosebumps prick her skin.

"Coming!" She called back. Our eyes met once again, "I'll see you around, Steven."

A smile took over her face before she quickly dashed off with the tray of needles in her grasp. I turned on my heel, watching her race off, her hips had little dips in them and although she wasn't as tall as some of the other nurses here, her skirt was still barely brushing the middle of her thighs. I couldn't help staring, wanting to know more about who she was.
