The dim neon lights of Pentagram City cast a soft, otherworldly glow over the rooftop where you and Cherri Bomb sat. The city below buzzed with chaos and laughter, but up here, it was just the two of you, a pair of cherry sodas in hand.
"Not bad for a night in Hell, huh?" Cherri grinned, her voice filled with mischief and a hint of warmth. Her fiery pink hair danced in the wind, and her one, beautiful eye sparkled with a light that matched her explosive personality.
You smiled back, lifting your soda. "Not bad at all. Cheers, Cherri."
"Cheers!" she echoed, and the two of you clinked the glass bottles together, the soft tink resonating in the cool night air. You both took a long drink, savoring the sweet, fizzy taste of cherry soda.
As you finished, Cherri's eyes lit up with a playful idea. "Hey, let's see what the pull tabs say. You know, those little messages they have?"
You laughed and nodded, reaching for the pull tab on your bottle. "Sure, why not?"
With a quick flick, you removed the metal tab and turned it over. "Mine says... 'Keep Smiling.' Well, that's kind of nice."
Cherri chuckled, her fingers deftly removing her own tab. "Let's see what mine says..." She turned it over and her grin widened. "Oh, would you look at that."
Curious, you leaned closer. "What does it say?"
In one swift motion, Cherri leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on your cheek. Your heart skipped a beat as her lips brushed your skin, leaving a tingling warmth in their wake. Before you could fully process what was happening, she pulled back with a mischievous smile and held up her tab.
It read, "Kiss."
You blinked, surprised and flustered, as Cherri laughed softly. "Guess I had to follow the instructions, right?"
Before you could respond, Cherri stood up, her expression softening just a fraction. "Gotta run, babe. See you around."
With that, she tossed the pull tab into your lap, the cool metal feeling weighty in your hand. You watched as she disappeared into the night, her laughter lingering in the air like an echo of the kiss still burning on your cheek.
You glanced down at the pull tab, a smile tugging at your lips. It was a simple thing, but it held a moment of unexpected magic, a small spark of connection in the heart of Hell.
And for that, you were grateful.
