Penny very quickly composed herself, it had been almost a month since she had been promoted to leading firefighter, and she loved it. She loved the sense of being able to officially make orders for the others at the scene and be in control. Something she was never in before, having been forced to do whatever chores and tasks Sam assigned her to. Usually he was nice about it, but on occasion he could be quite mean with his chores, like cleaning the toilets or all the gritty tasks. Penny most of all enjoyed the tasks that involved Neptune, Venus or anything mechanical based. That was Pennys element, none of her colleagues were able to do any of this. Penny had elected to take a additional module at the academy, and also had experience as her dad owned a car firm, and Penny was often taught how to fix certain things on a vehicle which now became second nature to her.

Penny knew that there would be more paperwork involved as such, reports to file, she had seen Sam work for years now and part of her was overjoyed at the concept of her and Sam working more closely, more intimately as such. However, Penny had never had this much paperwork before, and she was far behind on it all, with deadlines looming and more and more reports needing to be done, Penny just couldn't cope. Sam was suppost to be supervising her for the first few months, just to be sure she would be okay on her own, and so far she was. Sure, Penny had gone to all the training courses needed but it was nothing like real world Experices.

Penny's focus was suddenly broken by a familiar voice, 'hey Penny, you alright? Do you needed help filing these?' Sam asked kindly, he could tell Penny was stressed, and frankly, he could remeber what it was like for him when he was going through the same process as Penny. Penny couldn't form many words however, 'I, I can't, I...,' Penny knew what she wanted to say, but she couldn't. she could hear her voice breaking as a tear began to fall down her face. Sam quickly jumped in to give her a comforting hug as she sobbed. 'Hey, hey, shhh. It's okay' he tried comforting her as she began shaking in his embrace. Sam was glad everyone else was out on a training drill so they wouldn't see Penny like this. 'It's okay, its not easy penny, i struggled at first as well'. He carefully glided his hands through her silky blond hair, letting her calm herself down and compose herself. 'Hey, how about i do these for you, im good at getting these done quickly. If we work together we'll be done in no time' he joked as Penny nodded in agreement.

Soon enough all the paperwork was complete, penny was greatful for Sam's help, knowing he would keep her breakdown confidential. 'There's this pub in Newtown I'm going to later penny, its me and a couple of mates who are also leading firefighters. You should come along now that your part of the club' he offered as Penny smiled. She defiantly needed a large drink after today.
