The ship explodes.
The bomb.
I scream as I'm pulled away from Bucky, into the fire.
When my body finally makes it back into consciousness, I stand up, holding my stomach as it screams in pain.
"Bucky? Steve?" I yell.
I stumble down, the fire getting closer to me. I crawl out of the room, and see light.
I crawl into the light, the open part of the boat. I see Bucky laying near me, trying to breathe.
"Bucky!" I scream, walking over to him.
"Oh, doll." He says, smiling. "Come on, we need to get out of here."
Bucky holds my hand as we make it to the ladder, climbing down into the sea. We need a boat with Steve, Wanda, and Veronica on it, and we swim over to it. Veronica helps me up onto the boat.
"How old are you?" I ask her.
"I'm seventeen." She tells us.
"Why did he want you?" Wanda asks the girl, wrapping her in a blanket.
"My dad was part of some research project that would benefit the bomb. When we found out it wasn't for good reasons, he took the information and ran off. Then they took me." She tells us.
This poor girl.
I move to the other side of the boat, sitting next to Bucky. Steve is steering the boat to shore.
"Avery, I am so sorry." Bucky tells me.
"It's not your fault, it's okay." I tell him, holding his hand in mine.
My ribs hurt so bad, and I wish I wasn't put on for this stupid mission.

I get into my pajamas, getting ready for bed. I have a big day tomorrow, my party.
It's almost eleven at night, when I can't resist it anymore. I have to just do it.
I walk quietly out of my room, and into Bucky's. He fast asleep already, god he's so cute.
I cuddle up next to him, watching him stir a bit when I get under the covers.
"Avery?" He murmurs.
"Hey." I say.
He pulls me into a tight squeeze, holding me close.
I wish he would never let go.
When I wake up, it's almost ten in the morning, and Bucky is out of bed. I stretch a bit, and quietly creep down the stairs, but stopping when I hear the conversation going on.
"Do you love her?"
"Of course I do. Steve, I haven't liked anyone the way I like her. She's . . . different. She's different than everyone else. She's sweet, and she cares for me." Bucky explained, making me smile.
I walk into living room, pretending I didn't just hear everything. "Hello boys."
"Coleman." Steve greets me.
I sit next to Bucky on the couch. He puts an arm around me, making me feel extra protected by just his presence.
"Are you excited for your party?" Steve asks me.
"Actually, I am. I have to admit, I was really nervous at first. Now, I'm kind of excited!" I say, happily.
Bucky laughs at my excitement, making me grin like a little girl.
