15 years ago, Hera fell in love with a mortal. She blames Aphrodite but she has no proof. She couldn't believe that she, the goddess of marriage would be willing to cheat on her husband. Hera liked to believe that it was the fact that Zeus just cheated on her for the second time since the oath. And with the same woman!!!
Irene was born the same way Athena's children were. Hera took all of her positive memories with Drake Meyer and then Irene was born.
Irene's dad loved her but was often away for work. She was married to this awful lady named Lily. Lily took every chance she got to abuse Irene both physically and mentally. Poor Irene was only six when she ran away.
While on the run she met Annabeth(who was seven), Luke(who was fourteen), and Thalia(who was twelve). Irene got close to all of them and for the first time felt like she had a true family. She was especially close to Thalia causing her death to affect her the most.
She got claimed the moment she got to camp. Everyone was shocked, a demigod child of Hera, the very goddess whose domain was marriage. She was spoiled and had everything handed to her because no one wanted to offend Hera.
Her only friends were Annabeth, Luke, and Micheal Yee, a son of Apollo. Actually Michael was more than a friend.
She was shocked to meet Percy but they quickly became friends. She knew that he didn't steal Zeus's lightning bolt because she could sense how much he loved his family. It was one of her many powers.
She helped calm everyone down once the cabins began picking sides between Athena and Zeus. Another one of her powers was that she could unite people as a family.
She wasn't all too shocked once it was revealed Luke was the thief. She knew he didn't care for family anymore and could sense something was wrong. It doesn't mean it didn't hurt.
She stayed at camp during all of Percy's quests, keeping everyone close and together as a family during the war. She led Camp-Half Blood during the battle of the Labyrinth. She became distant from Annabeth but they stayed close friends. She also started dating Micheal. At least, until he died.
After the war, she changed. Irene was ruder and more snappy to the rest of the campers. She felt lost and didn't know how to heal.
Then Percy disappeared and Annabeth was heartbroken. Since Annabeth was off looking for Percy, Irene stepped in to be more of a camp leader than ever. She knew everyone was saying about her behind her back but she couldn't bring herself to care. She was lost and confused.
Then she met a certain blond boy.
