Villainess Tries Again (Hiatus...)

Lying down on my bed I closed my eyes and tried to think about the person I saw earlier. I don't remember meeting anyone like that beore and his glare felt somewhat familiar.
Whatever, I didn't have time to travel down memory lane. I had urgent things to take care of.

Elena brought my tea and examined the bump on my head. She sighed "At least the swelling is going down. Miss Ephora, how did this really happen?"

"I fell, I was careless," I knew that if she heard the exact truth, then I can say goodbye to going outside.

After being with me for a while she left my room. I tied my hair up in a pony tail and went to the balcony. The flowers were in bloom and swayed gently to the breeze. I wondered what it would be like in Azter academy. I had heard it was quite good and Dulce and Liana also said they were going to come after learning I applied there.

"My dear, you look magnificent," I gave a cold look to the sly smile my mother gave me as she stopped herself from laughing in triumph at the dress I wore.

Her friend had really outdone herself. I also realized they had secretly conspired together. Though the fabric I had given was used, still a border of pearls were attached to the edge of the three quarter sleeves of the hands.  And the dress had a shoulder cut, revealing my neck and shoulders while my arms were covered halfway with two sleeves. The slit at the bottom was also cut higher than I requested.

Women were really scary, my mother though she was smiling held a warning glance that spelt she would do worse if I refused. I sighed and she brought over a lovely Sapphire blue earring set. There were tiny diamonds bordering the oval gem and it was exquisite.

I wanted to leave my hair down but it was updone to fit the newest hairstyles and I was finally ready for the banquet.

When I went down the stairs, I found my mother already dressed up in a baby blue dress which fit her well. It had sequins and accentuated her figure. My father and brother were also ready in their navy blue suits.

"Have you heard," I heard, the greedy whisper of a girl who was waiting to spill the tea to her friend, and lent a closer ear.

"No what is it," asked the friend helping me to get the rest.

"The crown prince...I mean Prince Ferez Rae has been removed from position of crown prince. Now Second Prince Hans Rae is the crown prince."

"Eh when did that happen? And why?"

"It's going to happen today. My father..." The girl paused with a prideful tilt of her face "gets the inside news quite fast. His Majesty would announce it today. Of course the reason might be the First Prince's bad health."

I frowned knowing from my previous life the facade of bad health was just a wrong rumor spread to put down the guard against the first prince. But he was never removed from the position of CP publicly. And Hans Rae who had been abroad for a while came back so soon to take the throne, this made everything a bit strange.

The sequence of events have not only changed but the timelines of events are also different. For some reason I felt bad for the former CP, I mean he was actually quite good at government affairs from what I remember so it must be a blow to him.
I guess I was slightly worried about him.

A hand grabbed my wrist and I was about to pull away, when I saw it was Dulce giving me a cheeky grin.
She was wearing a black lace gown, with no sleeves and pearls studded randomly near her corset.
I shook my head with a smile "Really, Dulce, you scared me."

"Awww poor baby Ephora was scared."

I giggled and looked around "Where is Liana?"

She frowned "I am not sure. She hasn't been sending me letters nor replying to mine lately. Is she trying to sever our friendship?"
"Maybe she has some things at home," I remembered that it was during this time her family began facing trouble. I had given her some advice and I hoped she would make it through. I did the best with my resources because as I wasn't a noble, I didn't really have many connections.
