Jimin's mind raced with unanswered questions as he stared at his phone, the words "It's time" echoing in his mind.
The voice on the other end had summoned him, promising a reunion with friends he hadn't seen in what felt like lifetimes. Yet, the call had ended abruptly, leaving him with more questions than answers. He paced the room, anxiety gnawing at him. How was he supposed to find everyone without any more clues? The number was gone, and the voice had offered no details.
All he knows is he has to find everyone on time. He knows where to go for guidance, the place whose smell itself sets his mind straight.
At the coffee shop, Jimin called one of his old friend who might help him with clear the confusion.
While Jimin shook his legs in anxiety at a thousand kilometers per second, a tall man clad in a turtleneck greeted him as he entered the coffee shop.
"Long time no see," the man said with a warm smile.
Jimin jumped slightly in surprise but relaxed when he recognized him. "Oh, Soohyuk! Thanks for coming over so quickly."
"What's the matter, Jim? Look at that messy hair," Soohyuk teased gently, pointing to Jimin's disheveled blonde locks. "You look so drained."
Jimin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "My head is spinning," he admitted, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders now that he could confide in someone.
"What's happened?" Soohyuk asked, concern evident in his expression.
"It's time," Jimin replied quietly, his dark eyes reflecting a mix of anticipation and fear. Soohyuk mirrored his expression, understanding dawning in his eyes.
After an hour of discussing plans and strategies, Soohyuk reached into his pocket and pulled out an old compass. "This belongs to you, Jim," he said, handing it over. "My grandfather always said that I should give it to you when you need it most. It's not your ordinary compass—it points towards the one who is necessary in any given situation."
Jimin took the compass, turning it over in his hands. Its weight felt reassuring, a tangible link to the guidance he sought. "Thank you, Soohyuk. I appreciate this," Jimin said sincerely, grateful for his friend's support.
With a nod of farewell, Soohyuk left Jimin to his thoughts. Jimin returned to his apartment and packed a bag with essentials—a change of clothes, the compass, and a few personal items. He stood in the doorway, looking around the familiar space one last time before setting off on his journey.
"Let's meet again, guys," Jimin whispered to himself, the promise hanging in the air as he closed the door behind him.
