today had been a fairly regular day for me, i got up, ate breakfast, well if eating breakfast includes a singular apple, walked to school, and skipped most of my classes, extremely normal, until now. i was currently in the principals office for the fifth time this week. its only wednesday.

this time i had been caught vandalizing the school out in the back with dylan and veronica. this had been my 10th warning this month.

"i'm sorry sunnee but you have already had one to many warnings and suspensions. were gonna have to expel you." those words ringing in my head. expulsion??? no this can't be right.

"you can't expel me please! where will i even go?" i ask in desperation not wanting to be expelled.

"well since you live on the west side and were the only other school here, were gonna have to transfer you over to the north side, since no other school will accept you." he said looking down at the papers on his desk.

shit this can't be happening. the north side is where all those snobby kids live, its quite literally famous for being "the safest part of royal woods."

and i come from the "royal west", famously named "the most dangerous part of royal woods." which i think is bullshit. as long as you lock your doors and windows, invest in bullet proof windows, don't leave your car unlocked especially without tint, and you don't carry any valuables with you, you will be totally safe! maybe.

but thats not the point. point is i don't fit in with those kids. ive met them before, lets just say one of us left with a broken nose and the other with a few scratches.

i've never broken my nose before.

i sighed knowing there was no other option for me. "when do i start?" i ask him.

"monday, you will be given your schedule upon your arrival." i nodded as i stood up and left his office frustrated.

as i walked out i heard him shout something. "you might want to get a backpack! they make you carry lots of things!" i scoffed as i left. i'm not gonna buy no damn backpack that shits expensive, and who said i was gonna carry what they tell me to carry either way?

i met up with emme and megan in the hallway, they had gone to the office before me, we all got caught vandalizing.

"did ya'll get expelled as well?" i ask as we walk down the hallway.

"yeah we did." they both say as i sigh. i really don't want to go to that stupid school, but at least i won't be alone

people from the north tend to not socialize with us so maybe it won't be as bad? hopefully.

i sighed as we made our way out of the school. we all went our separate ways back home to get ready for monday, by getting ready i mean mentally.

what am i gonna tell my mom? actually, she's been gone for a couple of days, i don't even know where she went. eh i'll be fine.

★★★

monday finally rolls around and its time for us to start school, dylan and veronica both showed up to my house so we could get there together.

once we all finished getting ready we headed out of my house. we had to leave 20 minutes earlier to walk 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop.

buses don't come to this side of town, which is totally ridiculous. so we have to cope with walking 10 minutes every single day.

when we got on the bus we headed to the very back at took a seat there. after about 10 minutes we got off at another bus stop and walked five minutes to the school.

once we made it we stood outside taking in the big building and the kids. we definitely stood out. the kids here were dressed in collared shirts, skirts, colorful clothing, clean clothing, they all looked... the same.

and here we stood in our beat up jeans, black beat up t shirts, dirty shoes, basically the exact opposite of whatever those people are. this is gonna be absolutely horrible.

we walked towards the school ignoring every single look people were giving us. if they think they're intimidating, they're in for an extremely rude awakening.

once we got our schedules we each got a different first period.

"shit we don't have first period together." i said as we scanned our schedules.

"who do you have?" i ask them as i read my first period class.

"math with mrs. greene, 203." dylan answers first.

"history with mr. robinson, 212." veronica says next.

"damn, i got english with mrs. smith, 215." i said with a sigh. english is my worst subject.

i've always been raised in a spanish speaking household which meant no one was there to teach me english.

i went through all of elementary school not knowing more than a few words of english. i was always placed in spanish speaking classes.

but once i learned they didn't offer that in middle school, i had to learn english which was a complete struggle.

now i'm a sophomore in high school, sure i'm better at english but by my accent, you can definitely tell it's not my first language, or so i've been told by my friends.

i sighed as i waved bye to them and made my way over to 215. by the time i walked in the bell had not yet rung.

since i was a new student the teacher pulled out a seating chart and placed my name on it. she directed me towards a paired desk in the back row next to the window.

i sat down next to the window considering i would be able to lay my head on it if i got tired or anything.

just before the bell rang a girl with a pony tail and a bright red jersey with a #1 walked in. huh, fairly different from all the other people here, considering she was in bright red, i assume shes on a sports team though from the jersey number.

i paid no mind to her until i felt a presence next to me. i turned my head to see her standing there. i furrowed my eye brows as we just stared at each other.

"can i help you?" i ask her confused on why shes just staring at me.

"yeah, you can help me by moving seats, you're in my spot." the girl spoke with a rasp in her voice.

"well i got here first, so suck it up." i say before putting my headphones in my ears.

"but this is my spot! i always sit right there." she said still trying to argue with me.

"well not anymore." i say with a sarcastic smile as the teacher tells her to sit down so she can begin the lesson for today.

i heard her groan as she stared me down while she sat next to me. first day and some girl already doesn't like me. awesome.
