The coffee shop meeting

Yachi Hitoka was a simple girl, when she saw a new coffee shop open up in her niegbouhood, she found herself inside it and scanning the menu in less than a few minutes.

It was mostly empty, which meant that Yachi could take all the time she needed to check the menu items. The shop was very small, but in a very cozy way. Unfortunatly they didn't have any menus on a big screen or on a board, so Yachi ended up picking a pamphlet to read from.

She kept glancing at the iced coffees, but should she choose something risky and new? She always went for iced coffee. Humming to herself she tapped her chin a few times, she had all the time in the world because today was her off day.

And she would've probably spent another eternity watching the items if not for the gruff grunt of someone behind her. She made a small jump at the dark sound, whipping her head to meet the eyes of the man behind the voice.

To her surprise, it was a tall man. She had seen him somewhere, but she couldn't remember where or when. It surely didn't help that he wore a mask and a cap, hiding most of his features except for the black tufts of hair sticking out from the sides of his cap.

"Could I please have a look at the menu too?"

Yachi blinked a few times at the man, nodding profusely once she came to her senses. She moved so that the man could squeeze himself past her and grab a pamphlet too.

She tried to go back to checking the items in peace, but she couldn't help but to glance at him every now and then. Why was he covering himself? Either he was famous, or really sick. Surgery could be another reason. She mentally chided herself for being so nosey, whatever he was or had done, it was none of her business.

Well, until he made it her business. Because the moment her attention was put on the items, she felt his presence near her. Looking up at him, he awkwardly held out a hand.

"Hey, you wouldn't be carrying a charger with you?"

Yachi dumbly stared at him for a few seconds, before she quickly said, "Ah, yes!"

She quickly dug in her purse, bringing out the white cord and plug. She always brought a charger with her, for emergencies. She was paranoid in that way.

"Would I please be able to borrow it? I was going to order something and use the shop's plugs, but I forgot to bring mine with me and-"

"Of course," Yachi interrupted. Handing her charger to him with a small bow.

"You cannot believe how much of a life savior you are, thank you so much..." He left it purposefully open.

"Yachi, my name is Yachi Hitoka."

"Thanks, Hitoka." Her last name sounded good with his voice. He nodded, a smile evident in the way his eyes scrunched up in the corners.

She watched him as he quickly went to the front to order, and Yachi felt somewhat disappointed that he left so soon. She didn't catch his name, had she?

To her surprise, the man came back with a frappe and iced coffee in both his hands. Was he drinking with someone else? No sane man would drink two drinks alone, right?

"So I wasn't really sure what to get you, but something told me you're an iced coffee type of girl."

He handed her the drink, and Yachi felt her cheeks burn. Was this fate, or her imagination playing tricks on her?

"Think of this as a thanks for the charger."

"You didn't have to do this..." She whispered as he lead the way to some chairs by the window.
