Taylor sat across from Aria at the kitchen table, both of them sipping on their morning smoothies. It had been a week since Aria's memorable first date with Finn, and Taylor was beaming with happiness for her. She noticed how much more confident and joyful Aria seemed lately.
"Aria," Taylor began, setting her smoothie down, "I've been thinking. Have you considered joining any clubs at school? It might be a great way to meet more people and find something you're passionate about."
Aria looked up, slightly hesitant. "I've thought about it, but I'm not sure what I'd want to do."
Taylor smiled warmly. "Well, I heard there's a singing club. I remember how much you love singing along to my songs. Why not give it a try?"
Aria's eyes widened with a mix of excitement and nerves. "Singing club? Do you really think I could do that?"
"I know you can," Taylor said confidently. "You have a beautiful voice, Aria. I think you'd really enjoy it."
Aria bit her lip, considering the idea. "Okay, I'll give it a shot."
The next day, Aria found herself standing outside the music room, her heart pounding with anticipation. She took a deep breath and pushed the door open. Inside, she saw a group of students warming up, including Juliet and Oriana, who were talking loudly and laughing at the front of the room.
Aria's nerves spiked as she saw them, but she reminded herself of Taylor's encouragement. She took a seat at the back of the room, hoping to go unnoticed.
The club's advisor, Miss Jones, welcomed everyone and explained that today they would each take turns singing a short piece to get a sense of everyone's voices. Juliet and Oriana were first. They strutted to the front, exchanging confident smirks.
As they began to sing, it became clear that their confidence was misplaced. Their voices were off-key, and they struggled to stay in tune. Despite this, they finished their performance with exaggerated bows, soaking in the applause from a few friends in the audience.
Aria's turn came next. She felt her heart racing as she walked to the front of the room. She glanced at Miss Jones, who gave her an encouraging nod. Taking a deep breath, she began to sing "Long Live" by Taylor Swift.
The room fell silent as Aria's voice filled the space. Her nervousness melted away as she lost herself in the music. Her voice was pure and clear, hitting every note with precision and emotion. When she finished, there was a moment of stunned silence before the room erupted in applause.
Juliet and Oriana exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of shock and jealousy.
Miss Jones beamed. "Aria, that was incredible! You have a real talent for singing. I'm so glad you joined us."
Blushing with pride, Aria returned to her seat, feeling a surge of confidence. After the meeting, several club members approached her, complimenting her performance and welcoming her to the group.
As she walked home, Aria couldn't wait to tell Taylor about her experience. She found Taylor in the living room, working on some music.
"Hey, Taylor!" Aria called out, her excitement bubbling over.
Taylor looked up with a smile. "Hey, how was singing club?"
Aria beamed. "It was amazing! I sang in front of everyone, and they really liked it. Even Miss Jones said I have a real talent."
Taylor's face lit up with pride. "I knew you would be amazing, Aria. I'm so proud of you."
Aria felt a warmth in her chest, grateful for Taylor's encouragement and belief in her. "Thank you, Taylor. I'm really excited about this."
Taylor hugged her tightly. "You're welcome, sweetheart. I can't wait to see where this takes you."
That evening, as Aria sat in her room, she reflected on the day's events. She felt a new sense of purpose and excitement for the future. With Taylor's support and her newfound confidence, she knew she could overcome any challenge that came her way.
