Jax POV
We finally made it to Ninjago City. It was sunny, and there were little clouds. I smiled and looked to the other three. Haki and Sylvester were smiling. Tadashi looks worried.
We walked into the city to see people protesting. Or yelling out to get rid of the snakes. Then it started. The ground shaking. We saw the Great Devourer. It was huge... it was destroying buildings, knocking them down. Screams from the citizens are heard from the distance. Haki ran into the city. I looked at Sylvester and nodded. We both ran after him, Tadashi following. His little sister is in the city, and his parents are about to be killed by the Devourer. He needs to be there.
We ran past people running and screaming. Down the streets to Haki's apartment building. We got there, and it was already falling down.
"NOOO!" Haki yelled. He kept running. In fact, he ran faster. My gosh. He broke down crying. My heart felt like it was breaking. I looked at Sylvester. He had wide eyes. Tears were forming in his eyes. I automatically ran to Haki and started comforting him. "You're ok. It's ok. Shhh. You have to take care of Harumi." I whispered to him.
He cried for a little bit longer before wiping his face with his sleeve. He got up slowly before saying, "Y-yeah, let's go." He started walking towards the building. Sylvester and Tadashi were following him.
Just then, I heard a familiar voice call, "Jax!" I looked over and saw Morro. Morro? I. I thought he wasn't alive. I mean, I knew it was a possibility. But he's alive. "Morro?" I started walking over to him, then started running and hugged him. "I missed you! I-I thought you weren't alive! Why didn't you come see me if you were alive?"
I hadn't realized that I had started crying. I buried my face into his chest and smelt his familiar homelessness smell. I'm just kidding. He smelt like pine trees. He hugged me back and comforted me, stroking my hair. "I'm here. It's ok." We hugged for a bit before I pulled away. "Where were you?" I asked. He looked away, with a sad look in his eyes. The the ground shook again. I looked up, and my eyes widened. Oh shit. The building is falling. Morro looked up wide-eyed before looking at me. He then threw me. It didn't look like I'd be able to survive, but then an extra force pushed me forward. I looked back at Morro. He had a desperate expression. He was holding his hand out and using his elemental power. Wind.
"NOOO!" I yelled to him. "Morro!" I heard someone else yell. They were running towards him. That was the guy... that was chasing us... why is he here?.. Morro looked at me with sadness in my eyes as he pushed me away with wind. The building is just collapsing on them.
Why? Why would he do that? We would have gotten out together. He's still alive, right? There's a chance he's still alive. Right? I then felt the wind die down. What? No. No. No. No! I couldn't stand up, I couldn't move. I felt tears coming down. I let out a sob. Then another. I broke down crying. Why couldn't he save himself, too? Why? We both could've made it. He should have lived too, shouldn't he? The building was in front of me. It was just right there. Maybe he could still be alive. I have to see if he's still alive and save him. I stood up with shaky legs and walked around the building, looking for an opening. I found a window close by and in went in. The inside was orange. Red. There was a fire. It was slowly spreading. I walked past it and started looking for Morro.
"Morro!" I coughed out. I kept walking, letting out coughs. "Morro!?" I saw him. On the ground. I ran over, my legs feeling like they're giving up. "Morro?!" I dropped down next to him and checked his pulse. There wasn't one. No. "Morro, wake up. This isn't funny." I hoped this was a joke. "Dammit! Please wake up!" I shook him. He wasn't responding. My breathing was getting shorter. I was crying and couldn't breathe. I finally noticed the smoke and started coughing. I must have inhaled too much of it. I couldn't breathe. It felt like my lungs were tightened. Then my name was called.
I looked up and saw Sylvester running towards me. He had a scared look on his face. Despite covering it, I could see it clearly. His beautiful face. I smiled. He freaked out even more. "Jax?" He asked. I hummed in response. "Please don't leave me." He held me in his arms. My body was too weak. "I won't. We won't see each other for... a while. But I'll come back. Just... wait." Tears started streaming down his face. He looked scared and full of fear. I hated seeing him like that. "Don't be... scared." I told him. He didn't listen, but that's a natural response. He hugged me. Tightly scared of losing me. "It's. Only going. To be. A while." I said in between breathes, as I couldn't breathe properly anymore. "You. Should... probably... leave now... I want... you... to live... I'll come back..." I told him in between breathes. My breath gets deeper. It felt like my lungs were burning. But oddly, it felt like calming. I knew I was dying. I think Sylvester knew, too. "I... love... you."
He seemed surprised. He then smiled and said. "I love you too." I then felt his lips against mine. They felt soft. Extremely soft. Just then, I felt my heartbeat slow down. It felt weird. I felt my blood stop pumping. My body felt still. I felt myself going into an abyss. It's weird.
I woke up... in a green place. Morro was next to me. He was green, too. Am I? I looked down at myself and saw I was green and transparent. I knew it. I knew I was getting sent here. I somehow did. Morro looked scared and surprised. I saw that guy from earlier next to him. He seemed surprised. But less than Morro.
This is the cursed realm.
