Varain is born in a small village far away from Bangkok. He is mostly happy there. Mostly.

He has his family, friends, school, and playground. He is loved and loves back. That never changed since he was born. Until one day, it did change, for the worst.

There was a war for the territory. Some say the head alpha of his territory took some major rich family's family members and they didn't like it. They tore apart the village and killed many people, Rain's father included.

Rain hates the family since then as they took everything away from Rain. The peace. The happiness. The love. He always hopes that The Theerapanyakuls rot in hell, including that one guy that he thought had his heart.

He also swore he wouldn't step foot in Bangkok, but life changed it for him. His mother has accepted a job here, one that can change their life for the better, said his mom. Rain can now go to college, pursuing his dream to become an architect.

Rain agreed because he didn't want to make his mother sad. The looks and smile on his mother's face when he reluctantly agreed is enough for him to swallow any bitter feelings.

They settled in one of Bangkok's satellite cities. The neighborhood is alright, although it doesn't give him the warmth like his little village.

There is a kid of his age who lives alone beside his house. He's friendly and an omega just like him. Porchay, his new friend, is tilted to the quiet side. He only talks a lot if they talk about music or when he is nervous. Chay attends the same university as Rain. But he's in accounting as he says he is good with numbers, better than he is with music.

"Music isn't a practical choice for living, Varain. Unless I'm some kind of musical prodigy or loaded, I can't live my life with music as a money source."

Rain agrees. They have to be realistic. Chay is also good at hacking, he learned it by watching videos, self-taught, and learning courses from shady websites. He is now patiently teaching Rain that skill.

Chay has a brother, but Rain never seen him. The guy brushed it off every time Rain asked, saying he was partially abandoned with a bitter smile. The brother still sent money every month, enough to make Chay's life more than comfortable as Rain had seen the amount accidentally, but he preferred to use it only a little. Just enough to keep the house secure, bills paid, and pay for his university. For everything else, Chay works at a book store and rental and a food and goods warehouse in his spare time.

They have the same clique of friends in university, consisting of ten kids from any background and major. They were friends because they were all locked in the library and forced to spend the night together. Since then they get along very well and often spend time together, doing what kids their age do.

Tonight, Som, one of their senior friends, is celebrating his birthday in some fancy club. Som's parents are, of course, rich as the guy drives a BMW to university. So they have no doubt he can afford to take nine kids to a club and open a table for them.

He and Porchay were the ones who were reluctant to go as they were not familiar with club life, but everybody else was coaxing them to go.

So here they are, at one of the tables just a couple of meters from the dance floor.

Rain feels like a fish out of a pond when he sees so many beautiful people packing this place. But Porchay is interestingly used to this, loud sounds and smoke environment. He is quiet but Rain can see he observes his surroundings with interest. Like he is searching for something.

"What's wrong?" he whispers to his friend.

"Somebody is watching me. I can feel it."

Porchay has a keen intuition, rarely wrong. Rain is now frantically searching too, although he doesn't know what he is searching for. But that makes his eyes nailed on a person he doesn't want to meet. No. Never again. In this life and the next.
