Cravings

First Kiss

He leaned in, I could smell the coffee on his breath. Usually, that would have disgusted me, but not with Aaron. For him it was just... perfect. Everything about him was perfect. He was so close, I could see tiny freckles on his red cheeks that I never even knew existed.

Before he kissed me, I stepped back. Breathing heavily, I said, “Aaron.... are you sure you wanna do this? I mean--” He cut me off by pressing his chapped lips to mine. He kissed me deeply, full of love and passion. He wrapped his arms around my waist, and I threaded my fingers through his chocolate-brown locks.

  I could have stayed like that forever, trapped in his warm embrace. It just felt so right. Unfortunately, being human, we had to breath. Even though we broke apart, we still held each other tightly, like we were afraid to ever let go. Aaron rested his forehead against my own and stared into my eyes. His eyes were like pools of melted chocolate.

“That was my first kiss,” I stated softly, scared he’d think I was a loser. I was sixteen, after all. “With your best friend,” Aaron said. He smiled, and the whole room lit up. “Was it good?”  

I choked on my words. I knew I could've said something cliché like ‘it was the best moment of my life’, or I could have said something sweet and unrelated like ‘I love you’. Instead, my brilliant brain forced my to be witty and sarcastic. It was a habit.

 “Well, I dunno. I’ve nothing else to compare it to...” I grinned slyly at him. “So I think you’re gonna have to do it again.” Aaron matched my evil smirk. “That’s the smartest thing you’ve said all day.”  

And then he kissed me again.

That was short.

This came to me completely out of no where. My best mate had asked what I thought my first kiss would be like... and I immediately spouted this. And of course, Aaron is my crush from school XD

And he does look like that...<3
