That's what they say anyways. This is far from how I feel though. Love makes my soul want to crawl deep into a hole, bury itself in pounds of dirt, and never ever leave. It's all because of Hadrian too. I had been assigned to guard him as a young teen. I was about a year younger, 15 to be exact. My sister is also a knight, but of course she got the easier end of the stick. She got his brother, Hiraya. Vespera is great and all, but I'm honestly jealous. Hiraya is a good guy, and has barely any enemies. Except for his brother of course. My boss, Hadrian. It all honestly goes into a full circle. From me to Hiraya.
Everything would normally be all business, with everybody fighting each other. The main exception being me and my sister, but things have changed lately. My dearest and lovely sister got engaged to Hiraya. How did a prince fall in love with his knight? Isn't that only in fairytales? To make things worse, Hiraya was my best friend as a child. I grew apart from him when I began working for Hadrian. Then he became my enemy. Now he's going to be my brother-in-law. Great, just great. Honestly if my sister can bag a prince, why can't I? You know what, maybe I'll finally talk to Hadrian about my feelings. Yeah, I'll-
"Esmeray?! Where the hell are you?!"
Hadrian shouted from down the hall.
Well, maybe I won't tell him actually. I'm changing my mind.
