After a whole day with Elias and Khamal I meet with Molly, Lexi, and Markus at my house
"Have a good date" Elias says sounding almost angry
"Come in" I say to them smiling
Elias and Khamal come in the house with the rest of us, my dad sees Elias and gives him a bear hug and them two start talking about whatever the hell boys talk about. My mom comes down and gives Eli a hug too
"Mom guess what" I say smiling
She looks at me confused "what"
"im going on a date" I smile
My parents both say what but my dad sounds more surprised then excited,My dad starts to pay Eli on the back "I knew you would come through"
We all look around confused and Eli just stands next to my dad smirking at me
"I'm not going on a date with that" I say raising my eyebrows
Everyone laughs except for my dad
" Then who" my dad says looking at me suspiciously
"Someone I met the other day" I say giving him the same look
" If you don't know this boy then someone is going to have to chaperone" he says with a serious look on his face
" I'm not going on a date with a chaperone dad" I tell him
"You either go with one or don't go at all" he tells me
"Eli you can go with her" He asks smiling
"What!" I say almost yelling
My friends look shocked and Elias just has a smirk stuck to his face
"Yes Sir" he says looking directly at me
"Are you serious" i say crossing my arms
"dead" he responds matching my attitude
I mumble a whatever and head upstairs to my room, I get in my room and leave the door open so Molly and Lexi don't get hit by the door, They both come in and Lexi closes my door
I start to angerly take off my clothes
"Who does he even think he is telling me that I need a chaperone like i'm some baby" i say going in my closet trying to find the outfit
I hear them sit on my bed
"I mean he does have a point Zylah you barely know him" Lexi says
"Seriously your picking sides" I say as i turn around facing her with my arms crossed
"There are no sides" Molly says
"You know what I don't care Eli can come but if he ruins it i swear I will hurt him" I say going up to my bed putting my dress on it
"Time please" I ask
"4:40" they both respond
I go into my bathroom and brush my teeth quickly, I grab my makeup and deodorant
While I put on deodorant Lexi finds my heels and places them on the floor under my dress, I fix up my hair with water and start to put on my dress
"Lexi can you do my makeup and please don't give me big eyebrows" I ask her
"Seriously" she says disappointed
I shrug my shoulders saying sorry
After I get my dress on I sit down at my vanity and face Lexi so she can do my face, After a few minutes she finishes my makeup giving me a Lexi special, I get up and put some jewelry on after that I put on my Bare Vanilla perfume from Victoria Secret
I sit on my bed and put on my Heels and Molly hands me the purse, Before I leave my room i put on my Nyx Fat Oil
As I head down the stairs everyone looks at me, My mom is smiling, My dad just looks happy, Khamal not even paying attention, Markus is smiling, and Elias is looking at me with a subtle smile on his face.
"Do I look good" I say giving everyone a spin
Everyone nods
"Time please" I say to anyone
"5:30" My dad says
"Alright I have to go love y'all" I say giving my Mom and Dad a hug
I open the front door and walk to Eli's car, he comes out the house with the rest of my friends
"I'll call y'all later but Khamal whose car are you riding in" I say
"He's riding with us" Lexi says
I nod and get in the car while Eli and Khamal finish talking, Eli gets in the car after like 2 minutes and starts it up.
"Where are we headed" He says looking at me
"I'm headed to the park off Oak B with the lake and stone bridge" I say
He laughs and starts to drive, the sound of his amusement lingering in the air. It's the kind of laugh that's both frustrating and infectious, making it hard to tell if he's genuinely amused or just trying to get under my skin.
"What's so funny?" I ask, crossing my arms.
"Nothing, really," he says, his tone light, though his eyes are focused on the road ahead. "Just never pegged you as the type to hang out in parks, that's all."
I roll my eyes, knowing exactly what he's getting at. "And what type is that?"
He glances over, a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. "You know, the mysterious, hard-to-read type who spends time in places that are... well, unexpected."
I huff in response, though a small part of me is confused why he cares. "Maybe you just don't know me as well as you think you do."
His grin widens as he shifts gears, the car speeding up slightly. "Or maybe I know you better than you realize."
I roll my eyes and focus them on buildings passing by, His confidence is so aggravating, and I want to wipe that smug look off his face
I keep my eyes on the passing buildings, trying to ignore him "You think you have me all figured out, huh?" I say.
He chuckles softly, that infuriatingly self-assured sound filling the car again. "I don't have to figure you out, because you're not as unreadable as you'd like to think."
I turn to him, raising an eyebrow. "Oh really? And what do you think you know?"
His eyes meet mine briefly, a flicker of something—interest, maybe—passing through them before he looks back at the road. "That you're not as immune to me as you pretend to be."
My breath catches for a moment, the boldness of his statement catching me off guard. I'm not sure whether to be angry or impressed by his nerve. Instead, I settle for a nonchalant shrug. "You sure about that?"
He grins, and this time it reaches his eyes, softening the sharpness of his features. "Yeah, I am."
The tension in the air thickens, the car ride now making me question things.
"Keep telling yourself that," I mutter
The car slows as we approach the park, I glance out the window taking in the sight of the crisp fall afternoon of the open park. The trees are alive with color, leaves drifting down like confetti. Eli parks in a spot and I wait for my date.
