The applause and cheers went on for a long time, though they weren't really aware of them. They were too busy hugging each other. And yes, the party would continue soon. A slower song started to play, maybe conscious of the atmosphere that had been created, and just like with the previous one, they simply went with the flow.
Anyway, Amalia didn't feel like separating from the warm and robust chest she was clinging to, and the cozy arms that surrounded her. This gentle movement to the cadence of the music was the best excuse. She could worry later about the curious looks or how to deal with the opinions and gossip spreading through the rest of the kingdoms like weeds.
Now it was just the two of them.
"Don't you know this song, Amalia?" he said into her ear, so she could hear him.
She got goosebumps again hearing her name in that silky tone.
"Mmm," she whispered, "yeah. Why?"
"Oh, it's just that you're only humming."
"I'm humming?"
"Uh-huh," he nodded, "your voice vibrates in my chest, you know?"
Oh, here he went again with his completely unconscious sweet talk, the perfect moment to bury her face in the lumps of dark lycra to hide her blush.
"Anyway, you guys never liked it when I sang."
"I did."
There it was, two words, just two that made her feel better, and said completely casually.
"Stop being silly, Yugo, it doesn't matter what I said back then, I know how pandawa I sounded, just like Ruel said."
"It was never about whether you sang well or badly," before she could tense up, he concluded, "I liked it because you enjoyed it so much, it was so contagious that it was common for me to hum along afterwards."
Yes, she had ended up dragging him more than once into her karaoke sessions during their adventures, and far from complaining, he had enjoyed it as much as she did.
She smiled to herself:
"You were such a silly boy, going along with all kinds of ridiculous things."
"What's the point of an adventure if you don't experience everything you can?" His smile was lazy.
"Hee-hee, you're right."
"Though, you've improved a lot, have you been practicing?"
"Of course not," she mumbled, blushing, "when would I...?"
"I've heard you."
She pulled away suddenly to look at him:
"Wh-what? H-how? When?"
He sighed:
"You know your bathroom window is right next to my balcony, right?"
"Huh? WHAAAT?"
"Even when it's closed, I can hear. Ruel would say you have good projection, or something like that."
"WHAAAT?"
"Calm down, it's no big deal. You've improved, I mean it."
"You-you-you've been listening to me???"
"That's what I said."
"Everything I sing?"
"That's what I said."
"EEEEVERYTHING I sing?"
