That morning Troye woke with a pounding headache, any sound, even the slightest whisper, would sound like a small dog, with the loudest possible bark, barking at everyone who walks past and there currently is a large group of runners jogging by. He mumbled profanities as he tried walking (or more like stumbling) out his room, and to the bathroom across his apartment.
"Why the fuck is the bathroom so far away?" He grumbled to no one in particular. When he finally got to the bathroom door he opened it and turned on the light. He cringed at the brightness, hissing slightly, and made his way to the medicine cabinet. Opening it he realized that he had absolutely nothing to help his hangover. He left the bathroom looking into the living room. What'd you know that his flat was basically empty, aside from a couch, small TV, book shelf with nothing except the internet router on it. All he had in the apartment that was actually his was a duffel bag full of clothes and some food. He walked towards the kitchen and found himself wondering if actually leaving the apartment would be a good idea.Memories of Tyler started flooding back. The contagious smile that brought everyone who saw joy. The adorable voice that would make him melt with happiness. The amazing laughter that would fill the room. The cute little wrinkles that would appear when he smiled and laughed. Then memories of the horrible day stormed in, like thunder clouds rolling in on a good day. The argument. The fight. The break up. The slammed door. And finally, the tears. It had been nearly a week since Tyler broke up with him, but every night was just more and more getting drunk, calling Tyler leaving voicemails some begging to take him back, others would be him yelling angrily, then saying sorry over and over again, and lastly he'd fall asleep some nights with tears, others without. Those were his lucky nights.
Fresh tears rolled down his cheeks. Troye wiped them away and walked to his room, not caring about his pounding headache anymore, he unzipped his duffel bag and got out a black t-shirt that fitted his body slimly, dark skinny jeans, and the blue jacket that Tyler had given him on his birthday. Tears threatened to spill over, as he remembered how he had told Tyler it was too much, but Ty just said that 'nothing was too much for his perfect boyfriend.' How perfect is he now?
Not bothering to put away the clothes that he'd been wearing for the past several days, he slipped on the closest pair of shoes that he could find, which ended up being grey converses. He walked out the door, locking it, making sure he had his wallet and phone. He walked in some random direction hoping to find a café to get a coffee and a quiet one, at that. As cliched as it sounds it was an absolute down pour. The raindrops forcefully coming down onto his hair, matting his brown hair to his forehead. He didn't care. So what he could get sick. It didn't matter. Nothing matters... Without Tyler his whole life is a mess, and Troye knew it. After walking walking for about ten minutes he finds a coffee shop that doesn't seem like there's too many people in it. After stepping in he takes in the scenery: a bored looking teen sits behind the cash register looking at their phone, a creepy older man sits next to the window staring, obviously, at girls' butts as they walk past, and a stressed college student hunched over their computer typing away on an essay or something. Troye walks towards the bored teen and looks at their name tag "Jason" it read.
"Um, hey Jason, could I get an Americano, uh please?" Troye got out, speaking to someone else in a week is surprisingly harder then you'd think. Jason sighs before looking at me.
"Would that be a 12oz or a 16oz?" He questioned.
"Uh, 12oz, thanks."
"That'll be $4."Troye got the cash out and handed it to Jason, before walking to a table to sit down. After a couple minutes of doing nothing other than focusing on the lines of the table, all of a sudden he hears Jason call out 'Americano', so he gets his coffee and sits back down.
Once the coffee was nicely rested onto the table, he couldn't help but think. Think about what, you might ask? At first it was about everything, about how the ceiling fan would lightly shake after every rotation, about how when the stressed college student would type on his keyboard you could hear the faint clicks and clacks of the girl typing too hard, about the water stains on the white ceiling. Then he started thinking about Tyler. About how his eyes would wrinkle when he was truly happy. About how his laugh would righten every wrong in Troye's life. About how much he missed him, every single last bit of Tyler: his face, his voice, his smile, his nicknames, his sass, his perfect impressions of Regina, his laugh, his personality, the way he would bury his face in Troye's chest when he would get tired, the way he would try to kiss away all the pain, the way- ah fuck it. Troye needed Tyler. Troye needed to be able to bury his face in Tyler's hair, he needed to be able to kiss his perfect lips for all of eternity. He loved Tyler to the end of the universe and back.
Taking one last sip of his coffee, he placed a few coins on the table, threw the cup away, and jogged out of the café. Then he ran. He ran, and ran, and ran. He didn't care about the stinging air in his lungs; nor did he care about the tears that over flowed his eyes. He made his way into the apartment building, jogging past the lift and straight to the stairs, which earned him a strange stare from the receptionist. He tried double stepping, and ended up tripping over the stair, but he could've cared less.
Finally he found himself face to face with a door, but for him it was more of a gateway. It could either go extremely well, or horribly awful. He certainly hoped it wasn't the latter. Bringing one of his trembling hands up, he knocked, and realized something: he had no clue what he was going to say. But it was too late as he saw the door slowly swing open. This is it, he thought to himself.
"... Troye?" Tyler managed to get out, his voice cracking as tears, one by one, slowly made their ways down his cheek. Troye saw that Tyler looked somewhat paler than expected, and bags under his eyes. But in Troye's eyes, he still looked absolutely stunning.
"Tyler, I..." Troye trailed off, think about what he could possibly say, then it all came out like word vomit," Tyler, I love you so much. I'm so sorry for getting mad, for saying all those idiotic things. I just... I love you so much I just can't think straight when I see you talking to guys. I know that makes me sound horrible and like I don't trust you, but please believe me Tyler, because I do. I trust you to catch me when I fall, to help me walk after a night on the town with slightly too much to drink, to talk to other guys and not be thinking about having sex with them the whole time. Tyler I can't function without you by my side, you are the rainbow at the end of a storm. I can't express how much you mean to me... I ju-" Troye gets cut off from his rambling when Tyler kisses him. It's not a long kiss, but it meant so much more to him than 'just a kiss'. He never realized how much he missed the feeling of Tyler's lips on his, nor could he realize that as quickly as the moment had begun it was over. Tyler pulled back and stared at Troye's face. Tyler's hands cradling his face occasionally wiping away the occasional tear that fell from Troye's eyes. Then he said the most brilliant three words, words that Troye had been worried he'd never hear.
"I forgive you Troye."
