'You have matched!'
Jongwoo stopped in his tracks to stare at his phone dumbfoundedly as saw the notification on his screen. He hadn't swiped on anyone since swiping the doctor so seeing those words on his screen made his stomach flip.
The doctor actually matched with him!?
He was thankful that he was walking back to goshiwon when the notification popped up otherwise it would've been really awkward for him to be texting at work especially with how nosey they are, always up in his business, insulting him or flirting with him. Jongwoo really hated the fact that he was desperate.
Unfortunately for him, he had to make the first move as he was the one who swiped on the doctor in the first place, god damn these apps.
'Hey, noticed you swiped right on me. How are you doing'
Jongwoo cringed at the fact that he was awkward but a response came right away much to his surprise
'Hello Jongwoo, I'm doing quite alright. Just finishing up my shift, how are you?'
'I'm doing as well as I can be, just walking home from work. I see you're a doctor, what kind are you?'
'I am a dentist, I run my own clinic. How about you Jongwoo? What kind of worker are you?'
The more Jongwoo had texted the dentist, the more he found himself relaxing as the older man seemed to be very relaxed and calm, not at all what he was expecting.
Eventually the two had arranged a first meeting, a simple cafe. On a Friday evening when both Jongwoo and Moonjo get off work. Exactly what Moonjo had said in his profile.
The week dragged on for poor Jongwoo, the constant paranoia from the residents then the constant insults from his colleagues and the attempted flirting from the one women. Not to mention Jieun kept brushing off his every attempts of trying to talk and meet up with her for a date. The only thing he was looking forward to was his new friend, totally not his potential sugar daddy.
First Meeting
The door let out a short jingle as Jongwoo walked in. He tried dressing his best to make a first impression but there was only so little he could do given his financial situation. He hopes that Moonjo doesn't mind a simple white T-shirt with jeans, it was a cafe, it was meant to be casual, right?
Well, the moment he laid his eyes on the long haired man reading a book in the corner sitting at the booth, he felt very, very, very self-conscious. It makes sense of course, Dr. Seo Moonjo was a professional medical practitioner and the owner of his own clinic, he has to be professional looking. It just doesn't help the fact that he was extremely attractive with his white button up with a matching navy jacket and trousers, the circular golden rimmed glasses that framed his structurally sharp face perfectly.
Jongwoo never really had a thing for guys but seeing how his stomach decided to do gymnastics, it was fine, Moonjo is just conventionally attractive, anyone would feel the same way!
He slowly approached the booth, making enough noise to alert the man but it was not enough as he seemed engrossed in the story before him. Looking above, he was able to read a few lines and immediately recognized the book.
"The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, I love that book! It's one of my favourites, I've read it so many times I practically have it memorized"
Oh, was his voice ever so perfect...
Glancing away from the line he was reading to devour the sight of his masterpiece, he was everything he expected. Yes his clothing screamed poor but that was alright with him, it was the eyes that hold the soul. It was much clearer in person.
