2. Play Hard To Get!

They entered the gym to the sight of their team gathered up together in a group huddle. "Oh, hey! Yixi and Yuma! There you two are!" Their coach Mr Huma muttered. "Sorry, won't happen again" Yixiang calmly answered. "Yes, I'm sorry! I won't be late again sir" Yuma bowed low. With his head bowed, Yuma snarked an annoyed side glance at Yixiang, who calmly stood tall, as if he wasn't breaking their locker rules and causing the both of them to be late.

"Okay okay, well anyway, Team Red and Blue, be ready to warm up for a match! You are our two leading teams in our School Basketball club, so be sure to practise well! and be a good example for the other teams" announced Mr Huma before trodding back into the sidelines.

Yuma glanced at the Blue team, they had one of the best in the school, Koga and their captain Riki. Koga noticed his figure being watched, so he turned his gaze to catch Yuma's curious eyes.

When Yuma was a freshman, he saw Koga Senpai playing basketball and immediately felt drawn to the sport. He immediately joined the club. He wished to be on the same team as Koga, but Koga only scoffed when he saw Yuma's small frail frame. So, with a burning fire blitzing in his heart, Yuma started working overtime to show Koga what he was capable of.

Koga sneered at Yuma when he caught his eyes gazing at him. Yuma finally noticed that he was staring quite creepily at Koga, so he quickly avoided his eyes. "Let's get ready, Koga senpai!" cheered Riki, grabbing Koga's shoulder enthusiastically. "Yes. cap" Koga muttered back as he made his way towards the court. "Yuma, you look nervous", Yuma felt a heavy arm resting on his shoulder blade, he turned around to lock eyes with Yixiang. "Ah, don't worry about it, I'm fine", Yuma grumbled before escaping Yixiang's grasp and walking towards the court.
Even to this day, Koga makes Yuma nervous.

After 3 hours of gameplay, the red team was announced the winner with a record of 6:3

Yuma wiped the sweat that drooled over his forehead with the back of his hand, breathing heavily as he trudged towards the bench to take a sip of his lukewarm water. As the commotion of chuckling and cheers flooded the room, Yuma lowered his head to gaze at the time ticking on his silver hand watch. He jolted when he saw the time, 6:15 pm. Yuma had promised to meet up with Haru 30 minutes earlier.

He quickly got up and raced for the changing rooms. As Yuma neared the changing rooms, he noticed that it was severely tranquil, probably because the others were in the Gym, however, Yuma heard light mumbles due to the quiet atmosphere. Surpassing the changing room, Yuma neared the storage room. He pressed his ear against the cold door.

"How about a date this weekend?" a deep husky voice sighed, Yuma quickly recognised the voice to be Mr Huma's. "You say that every week" replied a soothing melodic voice which left Yuma surprised.

'Damn, they are dating...' Yuma thought before turning on his heels to quietly leave Coach Huma and Teacher Byun alone.

After changing into a comfortable oversized Peachy hoodie paired with black jeans, Yuma loosely threw his brown bag over the curve of his shoulder, waving goodbye to his teammates as he left the Gym.

Once Yuma neared the wooden door to his house, he took a deep sigh, preparing himself for Haru's scabbles on being late. After slight hesitation, he knocked roughly against the cold door. To his surprise, his little brother Hirota opened the door. "Hirota? I'm surprised to see you actually at home".

Hirota was a teen, probably going through his rebellious phase. He rarely stayed home, preferring to hang out with friends. He had silver hair, dyed of course, and puppy features, like sparkly slanted eyes and slight curves on the edges of his plump lips. He was wearing a Black hoodie and grey sweats, his normal fashion.
