The next day, Haseena went to the university with her roommate. Her roommate's name was Arya, a sweet and kind-hearted girl. In no time, they bonded and became friends. Haseena was in Section A, while Arya was in Section B. After reaching the university, Arya headed to the statistics department for her class, while Haseena went to the math department for hers. She was five minutes late for the class because of Arya, so she was a bit tense, fearing that Ms. Karishma might scold her. As you all know, Haseena's past has made her very sensitive, timid, and introverted, making her fearful of people.
When she reached the classroom, she saw Karishma writing something on the board, and all the other students were already present. Her heart pounded, and she nervously whispered, "May... May I come in, Ma'am?"
Hearing Haseena's voice, Karishma turned, looked at her, and with a warm smile said, "Come in, Miss Haseena." This left all the other students in shock. Karishma is known for being an exceptionally strict teaching assistant who insists on strict adherence to rules and discipline. If anyone breaks her rules, she becomes furious and scolds and punishes them. And here was Haseena, five minutes late to class. According to Karishma's rules, even being a minute late is unacceptable, and she usually punishes the student by making them stand outside in the sun. But today, when Haseena entered the class five minutes late, Karishma didn't scold her. Instead, she smiled and welcomed her in!
Haseena walked into the classroom, her eyes scanning for a seat. She settled on the fourth bench, noticing it was vacant, though the first bench was also empty. The first bench seemed too exposed, completely unoccupied, and she preferred a spot where she could blend in.
Karishma, ever observant, noticed her choice and said, "vahan kyun baithi hain aap, yahan first bench khali hai yahan baithiye"
Haseena hesitated, her voice barely above a whisper, "lekin ma'am vaha par koi nahi baitha hai"
With a gentle but firm tone, Karishma replied, "to aap baithiye na" Haseena, feeling the weight of the moment, nodded, "ji" and moved to the first bench.
As she settled in, Karishma asked with concern, "hostel se aane me koi problem to nahi huyi?"
Haseena replied softly, "Nahi ma'am" While The other students watched in astonishment, witnessing this rare display of softness from Karishma, who was known for her strict demeanor.
Karishma started her lesson, and throughout the lesson, she focused mostly on Haseena, often looking at her. After an hour, as the lecture was ending, Karishma asked the class, "Does anyone have another class next?"
A boy replied, "No, ma'am. We had a physics class, but it got canceled."
Karishma nodded thoughtfully and then turned to Haseena. "Alright, aap hamare cabin me aaiye" she said.
Haseena nodded again, her voice steady, "Okay ma'am," and began gathering her things, her mind racing with curiosity and a touch of anxiety about what awaited her in Karishma's cabin.
Haseena followed Karishma into her cabin, her heart beating a little faster than usual. Once inside, Karishma turned to face her and asked, "Did you revise what we covered yesterday?"
Haseena nodded earnestly, "Yes, ma'am."
Karishma gestured toward her chair, "baithiye"
Haseena hesitated, her eyes widening slightly, "vahan aapki chair par... ham aapki chair par kaise baith sakte hain"
Karishma's tone was firm but kind, "jaise baitha jata hai, baitho"
Haseena looked around, still unsure, "lekin fir aap kahan baithengi"
