What do you do with too much love,
And empathy to spare?
How do you not feel it?
The weight of their mind
Their love
Their want
Their suffering
Their loneliness
It crushes me like the sky
And I shed tears for phantom trauma
And I see too much of hideous people
With great grievances that poisoned their souls
I understand how every villain hates
Why they must hurt others
Because I feel their festering wounds
They must lie to themselves to forget the bullet holes
They are cornered animals
Snapping at clawed hands and prodding sticks
How do you cure an empath's heart,
When there is so much to sing?
