यही तक था साथ मेरा तेरा ,
पर फिर भी एक उम्मीद है इस दिल में कि...
किसी जनम में तू होगा मेरा।"I guess tujhe thoda padhna chahiye," I said to Mishree because she didn't study, and I guess this will really affect her life in the future.
"I will study whenever I want to. You don't need to say that, ok?" she shouted at me. She is my younger sister but never treated me like her sister; that's a gift from my mummy and papa. Of course, they never told her to respect me.
"Why are you shouting? I am your elder sister; you should listen to me, right?" I shouted back, as I always do.
"Why are you shouting at her, huh? She is your baby sister; you should treat her right, Vanshika," Mummy shouted at me. She always does this. If Mishree shouts at me, she never says anything to her, but if I do the same, she always intervenes in the argument.
"Mummy, she isn't studying, and what will she do in the future? She is my younger sister; that's why I am thinking about her," I said.
"Think? You should mind your own work," Mishree shouted.
"See, Mummy, look at the way she is talking to me," I said in anger.
"Leave her; look at yourself, how you are talking to me, huh?" Mummy shouted.
"When did I disrespect you?" I asked.
"Just shut up, Vanshika. I don't know why the heck God gave me a daughter like you. You never help me with housework. I don't know what a characterless girl you are," Mummy shouted at me, and my heart ached when I heard the words "characterless" from her mouth. This isn't the first time we have argued with each other, except for the word "characterless" when she called me that.
" characterless?" I muttered while controlling myself from crying.
" Haa Randi hi toh ho tum ab khush bina gaali sune tumhe chain kaha padta hai" she shouted at me and the word ' Randi 'was literally breaking me from inside.
"I am sorry to be your daughter," I said, tears streaming down my face as I walked away from the argument. Seeking solace, I retreated to my room, locking the door behind me. The weight of the hurtful words lingered in my mind, causing my tears to flow uncontrollably.
"Kash main paida hi nhi hoti...," I whispered amidst sobs, the pain of the situation weighing heavily on my heart.
"Why am I being subjected to this? What have I done to deserve hearing such hurtful things?" I questioned aloud, my voice trembling with emotion. The derogatory term that had been used cut deep, leaving me feeling wounded and vulnerable. Seeking comfort, I reached for the soft teddy bear that my best friend, Sneha, had gifted me. I affectionately named it Moonlight, holding it close as I sought solace in its familiarity and warmth.
