- CLOSE TO YOU -

SURROUNDED BY the thousands of stylists doing my hair, while Sade is on full blast on my speaker, and the smoke from the straightner filling the room, the nerves suddenly hit me, I hadn't gotten this much fame or attention in my whole career. I had only released Minor and Good Riddance in the past three years, but it never got to this extent. Cutting off my train of thought, the assistant producer enters my room, giving me a time frame, "20 minutes left, are you okay on that?" The assistant asks, wearing a black headset and a clipboard in her hands
I hum, while fixing my hair.

"FOR HER TALK SHOW DEBUT, PLEASE WELCOME LILA MADISON!"
The crowd erupted with cheers and claps as i walk out of the sliding doors, going to sit down on the infamous leather white chair. "Hold on.." I say while looking behind the coffee table in between me and Ellen. "Just making sure you're not scaring me" I say with a smile on my face. "Don't worry we don't scare people this early on.." which erupted a roar
Of laughter. "We are so lucky to be your talk show debut!" She says, with a beaming smile on her face. "Thank you for having me Ellen, it's been surreal to finally be on this show!" "It's great to have you, let's jump right in. Your new album, "The Secret of Us" is phenomenal. How has the response been and how has it been compared to your other albums?"
"First off, the response has been incredible, the support from the fans and fellow songwriters has been so supportive. The response has been drastically different to my other albums. Of course I got support but this is like, my first "I made it" moment if you will, I think having my strong fan base which i adore, and having more friends in the public eye, sort of put me in the limelight."
"One of the unexpected collab's of the year, have been on your album, "us." featuring Taylor Swift." How did that opportunity come about?" "Okay so, my friend Olivia, had a Grammy's after party in 2021 and of course, I attended, and her and Taylor are close so she was at the party and let me tell you, when I first saw her I was like..so star struck and freaking out, so when she like passed by me I was like "Oh, hey" pretending I was like nonchalant when in reality I was freaking out, and we eventually got close after meeting a few other times at events and yeah, we just hit it off." "What can we expect from the other tracks? Are they a similar vibe to Close to You?" "Definitely not, I can't spoil a lot but most of the album has the same style of music as Good Riddance but mixed with Minor, in a sense.." "So, people on the internet have been speculating who Close to You is about, can you say anything about who it's based on?" "I initially wrote Close to You when I was fourteen, so it's been seven years, and.. God this is so embarrassing!" I say while covering my face in embarrassment. "Um..the songs about Harry Styles" The audience cheers in response and Ellen starts laughing in shock. "What...wha do you mean it's about Harry Styles?" "Okay so, in my defense..We all had our fangirl, Wattpad, One Direction era right?" I look at the audience and they all agree. "Okay.. I was that, but a songwriter aswell. And um, Harry was my celebrity crush for seven years.."
"And the next guest on the show is Harry Styles everybody!"Ellen says while laughing and looking at the audience "No, Ellen..Please No.." "Do you think he's heard the song?" "I mean, I hope not.." I say while laughing "Alright folks we'll be back after the break with Lila performing Close To You"
