Forbidden Movie

Jake pushed the food around on his plate as he tried to get the courage to ask Heeseung if he could go see a movie that he's sure he wouldn't approve of.

"Jake, is there something wrong with your dinner?" Heeseung asks.

"What? Oh no. I was just thinking."

"Oh. Is there anything particular on your mind?"

"Well, my friends are all going to the movies tonight. Do you think I could go?"

"What movie is it?"

Jake hesitates, which gives Heeseung the idea that he isn't going to approve of whatever movie it is.

"Jake?"

"Um, it's called Abigail."

"The rated R movie?"

"Uh, no?"

"Uh, yeah." Jay says.

"Shut up! Nobody asked you."

"Jaeyun! Do not tell your hyung to shut up. As for you going to see this movie, the answer is no -"

"Hyung, come on! I'll be home by 11! I'll stay with my friends and I will only go to the movie and then back home. Please!"

"The movie is rated R, Jake. Even if I did agree, you wouldn't be able to see it because you aren't 17. That doesn't matter, though, because my answer is no. It's rated R, and your curfew is 9."

"But -"

"End of discussion. Eat your food."

"That's so unfair." Jake says, slumping back in his chair with his arms crossed.

"If you're going to keep pouting and not eat, then you can put your dish away and go to your room for the rest of the night."

Jake stares at Heeseung but decides to do as he is told. He was going to that movie whether Heeseung liked it or not. The best way to get away with it later was to not be in trouble now.

"Jungwon, sit back down and eat your food."

"But hyung, I wanna play now." Jungwon says, stomping his foot where he is standing.

"Me too!" Niki says, standing up as well.

"One."

Niki looks between Jungwon and Heeseung and decides to sit back down. He was starting to find this more entertaining than whatever toy he was planning on playing with. Jungwon doesn't move. Instead,  he glares at Heeseung.

"Two." Heeseung says, standing up now.

Jungwon huffs but finally takes his seat and aggressively shovels food in his mouth.

"Drop the attitude right now, little boy." Heeseung warns, making Jungwon obey.

The rest of dinner went by without any more problems, and a few hours later, everyone was getting ready for bed.

"Goodnight, Jake. I'm sorry you weren't able to go to the movies with your friends. A few more years and you'll get to go to movies like that."

"I'm still not happy with you."

"I know, and that's fine. Unfortunately, there are gonna be times when you aren't happy with my decisions, but that's part of life."

Jake doesn't reply and instead turns to face the wall.

"Goodnight. I love you."

Again, Jake doesn't reply. Heeseung sighs and turns off the light.

Jake waited until he was sure that Heeseung was asleep before sneaking out of bed and throwing some clothes on. He tiptoed as quietly as he could out of the room he shared with Jay. Once he was downstairs, he slipped his shoes on and grabbed the house keys, and left the house.
