“You're serious?! I- Alright, uh- Shit- Get down here, for a sec-” Zack quietly panicked, lightly pushing Screech down onto his bed and turning to take his sweater off. It was freezing cold in his room… but at the moment, he felt like he was stranded in the desert.

“Okay, okay-”

Zack smiled for a moment as he tossed the sweater aside, rolling up the sleeves of his collared button-up and going back over to Screech. He leaned over the boy and quietly breathed, “is this okay?”

“Y-Yeah- but aren't you still dating Kelly?!"

"Does this look like I'm still dating Kelly?!" He smirked, instantly kissing him and pressing against the bed. He never thought, out of all people, he'd ever see his best friend like this… and yet, here they were, and Zack was the happiest he'd ever been. And the moment their lips met and Screech's hands moved around his neck, he'd stopped thinking.

That is, until he and Screech heard a familiar sound.

“SAMUEL?! I'M HOME!”

“Shit-” He froze, grabbing Screech by the collar and pulling him into a panicked hug before frantically dropping him to put his sweater on.

“Zack? What's wrong?”

“Your mom is home!”

“So what? She knows you're here. You come over all the time!”

“Does she know I was just making out with her son?” Zack shook his head as Screech blushed and froze, unlocking the door. “Exactly.”

“So… does this mean you like me back?” Screech asked timidly.

“Duh, of course.” Zack smiled, taking a moment to fix Screech's hair, which he'd so lovingly messed up a few moments prior.

"But what happened with Kelly?!"

"We had an argument. And broke up. Again."

“Oh." Screech paused. "Sorry?"

"Don't worry about it."

"So… What are we? What does this... make us?”

“We can figure that out once your Mom goes out again.” Zack smiled. “But for now? I'd say we're past friends. Now shut up and act like I didn't just make out with you, before she bans me from coming over.”
