Hongjoong had been worried when he sent Seonghwa off to train with San. He knew of their less than friendly first meeting, but he needed Seonghwa to fight. He can't risk losing a man to protect Seonghwa should they get into a situation that requires them to fight. They're heading towards a place that none of the crew has been to before, much less seen before. He doesn't know what to expect and he doesn't want to risk Seonghwa dying, even if he can't.

When he'd heard of the brawl between the siren and boatswain he had to rub his temples to help the growing headache the siren was becoming. His crew was already apprehensive of the siren roaming freely, and it certainly didn't help that Seonghwa couldn't be cordial with anyone.

He'd gotten San to lash out at him for fucks sake.

When he'd left his quarters for dinner, he hadn't expected to see San nodding silently for Seonghwa to sit beside him. In fact, the sight seemed to shock everyone. Yunho took the seat on the other side of Seonghwa and Hongjoong had to blink a few times before taking his own seat across from Seonghwa. The siren was muttering something to San who glanced at Yunho who then shrugged.

How had....

"Why are you two suddenly so friendly?" Wooyoung asks the question on everyone's mind as he sits to the right of San, his usual seat at the table. San looked over to Wooyoung, and so did Seonghwa.

"Jealous?" San teases and Wooyoung scowls, hitting San's arm.

"Shut up."

"I thought you guys were going to kill each other before." Jongho says as he places his food on the table, sitting beside Mingi who sat across Yunho.

"They apologized to each other." Yunho finally answers the question, taking a spoonful of the soup into his mouth.

"I didn't know sirens could do that." Mingi mutters, looking at Seonghwa who stares back at him.

"I didn't either." San admits, greedily eating his food as the days worth of training made him starve.

Seonghwa looks down at his food. There's bread and soup. He bites his lip, not entirely sure how appetizing this would be to him. He's really only eaten raw fish and other creatures of the sort. He doesn't really know what he's looking at.

"Is it okay?" Yunho whispers to him as the table continues to speak about the sudden shift in Seonghwa and San's dynamic. Seonghwa glances up at him, surprised to hear the question.

"Is it..." He repeats, not really used to being asked about these sorts of things. The dynamic of these pirates was so much different than the pirates he'd last been captured by.

"Wooyoung left some fish out in case. He thought you might eat that rather than our food." Yunho says, pointing back to the small kitchen where the soup stayed warm in a pot.

"Wooyoung did?" He thought Wooyoung hated him. He supposes he'd thought Yunho hated him just as much too, yet the first mate sits beside him and is wondering if the food was okay. He was lucky to even have food before him.

"He assumed you might prefer raw meat." Seonghwa turns to look over to Wooyoung who's speaking with San beside him. Wooyoung notices Seonghwa looking at him and his eyes fall on him.

He has an unreadable expression. Seonghwa can't tell how Wooyoung feels about him, but it couldn't be that horrible if Wooyoung had been trying to make sure he had something to eat.

"It's okay, I'll try this." Seonghwa turns back to Yunho who nods, turning back to his own food.

Seonghwa looks at the soup, then at the metal things beside it.
