"Don't say it's your lesbian friend."

"Hey, I'm not a lesbian!" Catalina speaks up and takes a step closer to her in an aggressive way but I put my hand on Catalina's shoulder to calm her down.

"That's enough, don't say that about my friend!" I exclaim.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I was wrong." She chuckles.

"I thought she was a lesbian because hmm..."

"I have never seen her with any guy before."

Shit, I can not lose this battle against this bish.

"It... It's-" I stutter as my brain seeks for some cool comeback.

"It's because we don't date anyone in this school." I counter and cock my head.

"We have our relationships private and don't take our men here." I glance at Cata and I can tell that she's silently asking me what the hell am I doing right now.

"Yeah, you heard it right."

"Men." I bob my head.

"They are mature guys who know how to treat us right."

"And they are very handsome and hot, way better than your immature boys anyway."

"In fact, I feel pity for you." I flick my hair striking a pose, smirking at her loss of words expression.

She coughs.

"Alright, whatever you say." She gives me an amused look, obviously not buying.

"I want to see both of yours and your not-lesbian friend's men at prom." She challenges me.

"Can't wait to admire these men's handsomeness!" She jumps in fake excitement before striding towards her friends.

...

"What the hell were you doing Rosalie?!" Catalina hisses at me quietly.

"I'm sorry but I just couldn't let her have it." I whisper at her.

The reason why we have to be quiet when talking is because Vivian has apparently made a huge scene, that students are still surrounding us even though everything is already finished.

And yup. They have all heard about my imaginary hot men.

"Come on let's go somewhere..." I tell her and she nods.

...

"Well that's brilliant Rosie!" Cata smiles at me.

"Now where the hell are we going to get..."

"Our men from?" She elevates both her index and middle fingers into the air, doing air quotes.

"Isn't this more embarrassing than it already was?" She winces her face.

"I don't know!"

"I'm working on it."

"I just... I didn't see that coming."

"What coming?" She furrows her brows.

"Prom."

"I didn't even think of it."

"It wasn't supposed to end like this."

"Okay so when is prom?" I take a deep breath before asking. "We still have time right?"

She looks to a side, seeming a bit thoughtful for a moment, apparently counting the days in her head.

"Six days from now on." She shrugs.

"What?!"

❁ ❁ ❁

Tuesday morning

"I hate going to school." I mumble lowly to Catalina, glancing at the noisy students staring at us.

"Hang in there girl. Only one week left and we'll be out of this hell hole." She reassures me as we head to our class.

I just sigh.

...

"Oh no." I gasp.

"Hmm... What? Why not?" She turns to look at me.

"Keith is looking at me." I hiss quietly.

"Where?"

"There." I bat my eyes over.

I look at Keith standing with his guy friends, staring at me. Damn. The bruises on his face are terrible, more terrible than what I imagined. I wonder what happened to him.

"Ignore him girl, let's hurry." She urges me to move faster by pushing my back lightly.

❁ ❁ ❁

In the afternoon

Let's see how it goes with my applications...

I have been applying for a part-time job lately to have something to do and make money, preparing for the future too, just like Catalina. I want to do something beneficial for both of us.

"Wait..." I lean closer to the screen, squinting my eyes to see the response clearer.

"Yes!"

"Girl!" I call out to Catalina as I deliberately put down my laptop and sprint straight out to the living-room.

"What's up?" She swivels her head in my direction.

"I got accepted!"

"I'm gonna be working at a coffee shop!" I scream at her, bouncing up and down. "I have to go there later."

"That's great Rosie!" She jumps with joy along with me.

"You better find some guys over there and ask or pay them or whatever to get us to the prom!"

"Yes I will try, but we can't choose randomly. They have to be extremely drool-worthy you know?"

"Bruh, why did you even add that condition in the first place?" She holds her palms up.

"Now all of this seems impossible." She sighs and drops her hands down in defeat.

"Wait..."

"Hey!" Her eyes light up seemingly coming up with an idea and I stare at her expectantly.

"What about that handsome guy who helped you??"

"What?!" My face dramatically drops at the mention of him.

"Are you kidding me??"

"No way!" I hold my palms at her.

"He has a girlfriend and I'm still so damn mad about it." I spit and roll my eyes.

"Plus, we won't be seeing each other again so don't bother about it." I add and wave my hand dismissively.

"Dang it."

"Then what the hell should we do?" She shrugs.

"I have no idea." I shake my head staring at her.

...

A moment later

I prepare myself to go to the coffee shop.

...

I think this is the place... Right?

Yeah, right.

I push the glass door and walk in, a bit timid.

"Excuse me?" I ask, putting up a smile at the nearest server who has her back turned at me, spilling coffee out of a machine after I walk to the counter.

...

What the heck??

When she turns around, my smile vanishes and my friendly countenance rapidly alters into a combination of astounded and dander one.

Is- is she...

The girl who Keith cheated on me with?!
