You are a proud dog parent after your abusive ex left you with a dog. Your dog, Kayla, was the sweetest Saint Bernard puppy. You were so glad you were at least able to keep the dog. You've watched "Legally Blonde" you know how to get your fucking dog.

You have recently moved into a house with your friends, Colin and Maddie. It was on this small street with a handful of houses. Waking up to the bright sun shining in through the window and an energetic dog prancing through the house. You change and walk to the kitchen to see your friend Colin at the door about to leave. He was petting Kayla as he grabbed his keys off the wall. "See you later," he yelled towards you so quickly that you couldn't even get in a reply.

Having so much free time in the mornings means you got to take Kayla out in the morning. You grab her collar, and her eyes light up. Her tail was whipping everywhere as you put on her collar. You step outside, and the sun shines even brighter.

That's when you spot another dog across the street. The other dog looked like a pitbull mix. You then spot this absolute Hottie. She had soft gingery hair tied up into french braids. Your eyes met, and you realized she had the most beautiful blue eyes. She gives a wave and walks towards you.

You meet her halfway, on the side of the street. "Hey, your dog is so cute! Do you mind if I pet her?" She said, crouching down towards Kayla. "Of course, Kayla's one of the sweetest girls ever," you replied back. "Kayla's such a nice name. That's rivet," she said, pointing to the pitbull running in the fount of her house.

The dog soon ran over to them. Rivet was sniffing Kayla up and down, and just like that, they became friends. You unhook Kayla's leash and let the dogs run off into your neighbors yard. You were both watching the dogs' adorable interaction before remembering the other was there.

You lock eyes with your new neighbor, blushing from slight embarrassment for forgetting their presence. "Dang, I totally forgot to introduce myself. I'm Grainne," the neighbor said with a chuckle. You try and hide your attraction as you introduce yourself, "I'm Y/N, and your name is literally so cool." "Yeah it's Irish, I actually grew up in Ireland when I was a kid," Grainne said with a smile that made you a thousand times happier.

After talking for a while, you ask for her number. She was the funniest person I had ever met. I wished work didn't ever start. "Here you go. I put my name in as 'Pookie Grainne🤭'. I'll go ahead and put you in my phone as 'Cutie Patootie'," she said with a wink. You blushed and went to track down Kayla and took her back into your new house.

About a week later, you had both agreed to drive to the Bass Pro Pyramid. You knew it was a far drive, but when you are with her time flies like nobody's business. You spend hours looking around and having fun. You even spot some trick shot people. "Oh my gosh, this has literally been so fun," you said to Grainne. "Literally, you are so fun and not gonna lie very cute," she said, trying to wiggle her eyebrows flirtatiously. You blush and try and change the subject, "How about we go get some food? I'm kinda hungry."
"Perfect idea, I know a place if you're okay to drive back closer to our houses," Grainne said with a mischievous grin growing on her face.

You stand in a parking lot looking up at a big "Waffle House" sign. How did she know that was your literal favorite restaurant ever. You question her, "How did you know I liked 'Waffle House'?" Shrugging her shoulders, she said."Lucky guess?"

Walking in, you sat down in one of the booths, and a short waitress walked over to you both. "What can I get for you guys?" The waitress asked. "I'll take a Texas bacon melt and a sprite," she finished ordering and looked towards you for you to order. After you order, the waitress walks away to grab your drinks.

When you both received your drink, Grainne pulled a small bottle of grenadine. "You brought your own grenadine?" You said with a little laugh. "Of course, how else would I get my shirley temple," Grainne said with a short chuckle.

You both talk about your pasts, but you decide to leave your ex out of your story. "So what does your past dating life look like?" You cringe a little bit at the question, but right before you could say anything, a girl ran through the Waffle House door and ran towards Grainne slamming her hands on the table. "Omg bitch you didn't tell me you were gonna be here! I thought you were on a date!?!?!?" Grainne's face grew bright red at her brunette friend's remark. "Megan, literally shut up. This is the date. How are you not picking that up," the blonde said with a small sigh. She looked like she definitely didn't want to be at a Waffle House. "Oh wow, look at that time. I think I need to take my date home," Grainne said quickly, standing up and grabbing your hand and pulling you towards the door. "Bye, Lizzy." Grainne shouted towards the blonde. "TEXT ME LAT-" Lizzy was cut off by the door closing. She sighed, feeling left behind. "I didn't even get a bye. What the hell?" Megan said, definitely offended by her friend's goodbye.

You head home parking at Grainne's house. You sit in the car while smooth jazz plays. Grainne leans towards you, bringing her hand up to your face. You flinch, bringing your arm up covering your face. "Bby girl, what wrong?" Grainne said face full of concern. "I-... I'm sorry, I- just... it's a response from my ex being abusive," you finally admit to your date as a few tears slide down . "Don't worry, bby, I would never hurt you," Grainne said, corresing your face. Her face slowly moved closer to yours. You finally kiss before you quickly hop out of the car and run back across the street to your house. You open the door to Kayla, excited to see you back home.

You and Grainne live happily ever after with your dogs.
