The sun cast its golden rays upon the bridge, illuminating the lone figure sitting on the railing her back facing the river. Her long, luscious hair cascaded down her back like a river of night, with strands dancing in the gentle breeze. The white frock she wore seemed to glow in the sunlight.

Her feet swung listlessly, like a metronome marking the passage of time. The water below was a sheet of glass, reflecting the sky's serenity. But the peacefulness of the scene belied the storm raging within her.

Dark clouds gathered, like her thoughts, and the sky turned a deep, foreboding grey.

Without a sound, she slipped off the railing, her body arcing gracefully towards the water. The river embraced her, its silence swallowing her whole leaving only the echoes of her sorrow.

"Areum." Minho screamed.

I jolted awake, my heart racing, as a blood-curdling scream pierced the air. It came from Minho's room, and I knew I had to act fast. I quickly scrambled to my feet, wincing as my body protested the sudden movement. I had fallen asleep on the floor, and my muscles were screaming in protest. I stumbled towards Minho's room, my eyes bleary with sleep.

As I reached his room, I saw that the door was open, and I rushed inside. Minho was thrashing about on his bed, his eyes closed, and his face contorted in agony. He was shaking his head and flailing his arms, as if trying to grab something. Tears streamed down his cheeks, and his body was drenched in sweat. I knew he was having a nightmare.

I sat down on the edge of the bed and tried to shake him awake, but he was too far gone. He was trapped in his own personal hell, and I didn't know how to reach him. I tried to hold him down, but he struggled against me, his eyes still closed.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Minho sat up with a jolt, his eyes flying open. They were wild and unfocused, but as they locked onto mine, I saw a flash of emotion. Pain, fear, helplessness, and longing all swirled together in his gaze.

And then, to my surprise, he hugged me tightly. "Areum, don't leave me," he whispered, his voice trembling. "Please, I'll do anything."

My eyes widened slightly as I heard the name "Areum". It sounded familiar, and my heart began to race.

I shook my head to clear my thoughts and held Minho to comfort him, trying to calm him down. At first, he seemed to relax into my embrace, his body easing into my touch. But then, his eyes snapped back into focus, He looked at me with pure hatred in his eyes, and I knew I was in trouble.

With a sudden burst of strength, Minho pushed me away from him, his hands shoving me with full force. I stumbled backward, and fell hard onto the floor. The wind was knocked out of me, and I struggled to catch my breath.

"Don't you dare to touch me with your filthy hands!" Minho yelled angrily, his voice echoing off the walls.

I slowly got to my feet, my heart racing with anger and hurt. I was about to argue with him, to tell him that he was the one who had hugged me first, that I was just trying to comfort him. But something about his expression stopped me. He looked so full of rage and disgust that I knew arguing with him would only make things worse.

So instead, I simply said "Sorry" and left the room, trying to calm myself down

I went to my room and headed for the bathroom, still trying to process the events of the previous night. As I stood in front of the mirror, I couldn't help but gasp in shock. The scar on my face was much bigger than I had expected - it was almost 2 and a half inches long! I couldn't believe it. How was I going to explain this to other people?
