Jisungs hands were shoved in his pockets, and he approached the gas station. He'd been to this gas station multiple times, the one he first met minho in.He smiled, looking at the owner.
"Happy birthday! I remembered this year.." The owner smiled. She was a sweet old lady who always supplied jisung with what he needed when he had no money. She had always been there for jisung."Thank you, I'm surprised." Jisung said back. He reached for the seaweed and rice and placed it on the counter where she was. "I couldn't forget this year." She rung up the items, as he got the same thing sometimes.
"Uh, can I add this drink?"
Jisung asked. He went to the back of the store quickly, grabbing the energy drink. He heard the ringing of the gas station door opening up. He didn't make much of it, shutting the fridge door behind him as he began walking.
He kept the same dark face he always had. He hadn't smiled in a while. He didn't plan to either.
"I'll just get this too I'm—" jisung paused. He noticed a dark-haired man in front of him so suddenly. He couldn't see the man's face, but as the man looked over his shoulder, it was soon familiar.
It was minho.
Minho also just turned a little, looking at jisung, who stared with such confusion. He watched minho place a pack of alcohol on the gas station counter.
"Just this, sir?"
"Yes, and the rest of his stuff."
Jisung heard.
Minho was paying for him, too?
"I can pay myself it's fine." Jisung recalled. "It's fine, jisung." He hadn't heard minho say his name in so long. It brought happiness to him.
But he didn't want to get excited, so he just stayed in silence behind minho.
He was wearing his uniform.
How nostalgic.
He didn't have a ring on anymore, he guessed they split. "Are you still married?" Jisung asked. Minho shook his head as he took the bagged up items, holding them in his hands.
"We split about a week ago."
"Oh, I was really happy for you.. I'm sorry that happened." Minho heard. He just handed jisung his own separate bag. The two begin to walk around to the front, looking at the floor.
"What about you? Any relationships?"
"No, I didn't plan on one." Jisung said. The two sat down at the table outside.
"I'm sorry for saying those words to you. I did want to see you, jisung. If I truthfully didn't want to see you, I wouldn't have come."
"It's fine, it was a year and some months ago."
Jisung shrugged.
Minho looked up at the sunrise. He wanted to say so much more, but he couldn't think of it.
"It's your birthday, right?"
"Mhm." Jisung smiled, his hands shoved in his pockets looking at minhos' lovely side profile in the orange sun. He was so attractive. His overgrown hair was flowing with the wind.
"Do you want to make a cake? Like we did last year?"
Jisung just giggled.
"Sure."
"I won't mess it up this time!" Minho hopped up. He held his hand out, letting jisung grab it to help the younger up. Yet he didn't break the hands. He kept them together as they walked. It was sort of cold out, so he put jisungs hands in his pockets.
"We can go to my house?"
"Okay." Jisung nodded. He tilted his head, swinging his hand back and forth in minhos pocket.
It was odd this was how they met again. Jisung didn't have enough self respect for himself.
