Jacques and Ironwood were in the office, discussing the current events that have trans ponded recently.
Jacques: Are you insane?! First the dust embargo! Which has already costed me millions, and now this?! Do you want my company to crumble?!
The man looked at the general with a fanatic expression, which only made the general snort.
Ironwood: *Snort* Crumble? The world can place sanctions on your company and you wouldn't see any consequences for nearly 20 years. Beside, from what was experienced at Vale...I have come to see that using dust as the primary power source will only lead to disaster.
Jacques picked up his drink from the table between the two and sighed.
Jacques: And your alternative will give you better results?
Ironwood: Already has, the only problem is finding more of it, after all...it's their lifeblood after all.
Jacques: And you would trust him, Optimus? Over another human? A friend?
Ironwood: Optimus is as much of a friend as you are one to me, and with him, there are no "hidden details".
The older man slammed his cup back on the table.
Jacques: And you think the council will approve of this?! Disconnecting from your biggest donor?!
Ironwood quickly stood up, clenching his fists as he looked at Jacques.
Ironwood: May I remind you I hold 2 seats on the council? Besides, I must correct you on one thing.
Jacques: Which is?
Ironwood: You are not the biggest donor; you are ONE of.
Jacques: W-What? How, who else in Atlas supplies you with funds to upkeep the project?!
Ironwood: A few, and more from Vacuo, Mistral, even Menagerie has continued to send funds to the project.
The general looked at Jacques, who's eyes widened at what he was hearing.
Jacques: But what of the closures?! The kingdoms isolating themselves from each other!
Ironwood: That may be, but the funds have continued, I remind you Jacques, this project is not only for Atlas, but the world.
The older man sneered.
Jacques: Then you're a hypocrite! You prevent the release of goods, MY goods, yet you allow for the import of supplies from other kingdoms to support your need?!
Ironwood: This is not just my need, when it is completed, it will be what aids the guardians in more than just combat.
Jacques looked at the man in anger and was about to speak again, however the door opened before he could. The 2 men turned to it, and saw Weiss awkwardly walking in, hearing the end to their conversation.
Ironwood: Miss Schnee!
Jacques: Weiss!
Weiss: I-um
Ironwood: Apologies, I should have left by now. *Turns to Jacques* We'll continue this another Jacques.
Jacques: *Nodded* Indeed. Klein will show you the way.
Ironwood: I'll be fine, thank you.
The general walked by Weiss as he made his way towards the door before turning around again.
