Presidential High, a place of American opportunity. Students from all over The United States are sent to Presidential High in hopes of becoming the next best president. This is why when Richard Nixon received an envelope from Presidential High in his mailbox he didn't even wait to get back into the house to open it. He ripped open the white envelope and unfolded the paper inside. The paper had the official Presidential High stamp at the top along with the school's logo. He started reading. Nixon's face lit up the instant he read the first word of the letter, "Congratulations," He did it. Nixon got accepted into Presidential High. He was going to be th next best President of the United States!

Nixon got accepted into Presidential High three years ago now. Tomorrow, he will be a junior at Presidential High. Nixon lays in his twin-sized bed in his Presidential High dorm room, his body under his mustard yellow bedspread. He is having trouble falling asleep again, he is filled with ambition for his junior year at Presidential High. Nixon knows that his junior year can either make or break his career at presidential high. He is already on the PH football team and in the PH orchestra, but he needs to boost his popularity and likeability even more if he hopes to finally beat John Kennedy in the election for class president.

You can say that JFK and Nixon are rivals at Presidential High. Everything Nixon does, JFK somehow does better. Both JFK and Nixon are on the PH football team, but of course, JFK is the team captain while Nixon is stuck warming the bench every game. Nixon gets high grades, but for some reason JFK's GPA is always half a point higher than his. Even on Halloween when both Nixon and JFK threw a party on the same night, more people were in attendance at JFK's party whereas only Ford, Reagan, and H.W. Bush attended Nixon's. It wasn't fair, this year Nixon had to step up his game in order to win class president over JFK. Failure wasn't an option for Nixon.

-

Nixon woke up to rays of light coming from the cracks in the curtains on his face. He rolled over to check the time, five minutes before his alarm is set to go off. Of course, he would wake up before his alarm. He contemplated laying in bed for five more minutes but eventually decided to get an earlier start on his first day of his junior year at Presidential High.

Nixon rolls out of his bed and rubs his eyes. He makes his way to his closet, sliding the door to his right. He looks over all of his shirt choices until he decides to wear a classic short-sleeved white button-up shirt to pair with his tallest navy blue slacks. Once his clothes and shoes are on, Nixon grabs his backpack, slings it over his shoulder, and heads out of his door.

In the dorm hallway, Nixon makes a couple of strides until he reaches his next-door neighbor's dorm room door. George H.W. Bush is one of Nixon's best friends. He, Bush, and Ford walk to class together every day with Reagan occasionally joining them much to Nixon's dismay. After a third knock on Bush's door, the door swings open revealing Bush's still tired face. "Hey, Richard, ready for the first day of junior year?" Bush smiles at Nixon.

"Of course I am, George, it's going to be MY year!" Nixon exclaims as Bush closes his door and joins Nixon in the hallway.

Nixon and Bush make their way to Gerald's door, two doors down from Bush's. Before the pair could even knock on his door, Gerald opened his door. "Hey, bros!" Gerald waves at Bush and Nixon as they walk down to Geral's door. Gerald joins them in the hallway. "No Ronnie today?" he asks looking at Bush.

Bush and Reagan have been in an off-and-on relationship since their sophomore year. Nixon thought they had a toxic type of relationship. "No, not this morning," Bush replies, looking down at the hallway carpet underneath his shoes.

"What, you guys broke up again?" Nixon asked.

"If you did it better be for good this time!" Gerald added, "He's popular, but he's no John Kennedy!" Nixon winces at the name Kennedy.

"Guys, relax," Bush chimed in "He just had to be at school early for his speech class, we are on good terms at the moment," Bush explained.

"What ever you say, George." Nixon and Gerald said in unison.

Eventually, George, Nixon, and Gerald made it to the main Presidential High campus. They walked passed the giant Presidential High sign decorated in red, white, and blue with the founder's names signed on it. Seeing familiar, and even new faces in the PH halls made Nixon excited. He reminded himself that it was going to be his year. Nixon approached his locker and inputted his combination to open it. He swung the door open and grabbed his textbook for his first class of the day, math with Mr. Franklin. Mr. Franklin is one of the math and science teachers at PH and one of the founders too. Most of the founders of PH became teachers here too. Once his textbook was in hand, Nixon slammed the locker door shut. On the other side of the locker door, an all too familiar face revealed itself. Leaning against the lockers, was the face of a liberal looking back at Nixon, Bobby Kennedy. Nixon rolled his eyes "John sent you over here to spy on me?" Nixon said, walking down the hall toward his first class.

"No, Richard, I can't even attempt to be your friend anymore?" Boby responded, following Nixon down the hall, "And you act like I do whatever Jack tells me to anyway."

"Because you do, Bobby, you'd die for your brother, admit it." Nixon remarks "And just so you know, I'm planning on winning class president this year, and nothing you or John can do will stop me. Now leave me alone, I got to get to class."

"You've been saying those exact words for years now, Richard, just give up already, Jack is ten times more popular than you and ten times more likely to win class president for a third year in a row," Bobby says to get into Nixon's head. With that remark, Nixon scoffs and turns into his class with Mr. Franklin, and of course, the first face he sees is John Kennedy's, not to mention, he was sitting next to the only empty chair in the classroom.
