Friday has finally graced HDU with its presence.

It's been well over a week since my little confrontation with the spawn of Satan, and it's been one painfully slow week. Classes back to back, editing and writing new scripts for our media assignment, and interviews with the players.

Worst of all, having to deal with Kade's stupid threat haunting me all week. Every time I saw him talk with Luke , my anxiety goes all haywire at the sight.

Kade knew what he was doing. And I hate to say it , but it's working.

And here we are, wrapping up the last interview with him for the week.

"Last question, one we ask after each interview, is where do you see yourself in 10 years?" Maggie asks, and Sam focuses the camera right at Kade's face , apturing the thoughtful expression on his face as he considers the question.

Kade chuckles softly, rubbing his left shoulder. “Not doing this anymore, I hope,” he replies with a casual shrug.

My eyebrows shoot up at his response. “And by ‘not doing this,’ you mean...?” Maggie prods, trying to get more detail.

“Ice hockey,” Kade states flatly, his shoulders rising in a nonchalant shrug when Maggie presses for clarification.

My scoff of disbelief doesn't go unheard. Kade's eyes flick over to me, catching the skepticism written all over my face. He smirks, clearly enjoying my reaction.

As the interview wraps up and the equipment gets packed away, I linger, unable to shake the dread that’s been building all week. Kade seems to sense it because he saunters over and leans casually against the wall beside me.

“What’s with the look, Mayo?” he asks, amusement lacing his voice.

I take a deep breath, summoning the courage I’ve been lacking, and meet his gaze. “Kade,” I start, my voice steady but edged with desperation. “Don’t tell Luke about... about me and Dylan.” I’m unsure if he hears the plea in my voice, but his expression remains unchanged.

He sighs, almost in disappointment. “I still don’t hear the magic word, Mayo.”

I want to bite my tongue until it bleeds, but instead, I sigh. “Please.”

It kills me that I’m practically begging, but I see no other option. Kade’s smirk widens, and I can almost see the wheels turning in his head. He straightens up, his gaze intense. “Alright, May. I won’t tell Luke. But you have to do something for me in return.”

I shouldn’t be surprised by his demand, though I am. “What do you want?” I ask, my anxiety spiking.

Kade leans closer, his voice dropping to a serious murmur. “I need help with my shoulder. It’s been acting up, and I could use a good massage before the game. You do that for me, and your secret stays safe.”

I scoff. “Wow, that sounds like something straight out of a bad porno. Real classy, Kayden.”

He chuckles despite himself. “No need to be so dramatic, Mayo.”

My face twists in disgust. “You really just want me to massage your shoulder?”

He nods innocently. “Yes.”

Relief mingles with apprehension. Massaging Kade might be a small price to pay to keep my secret, but spending more time with him is bound to be a challenge.

After a few more glares at Kade and his annoying dimples, I finally relent.

“Deal,” I say, extending my hand. Kade takes it, his grip firm and warm.

“Deal,” he echoes, his eyes locking onto mine with a look that makes me feel like I’ve just made a deal with the devil.
