Nick Pov:
Today was the day that me, Matt and Chris had been waiting for. Today was the day we picked up Sadie from the adoption centre. Sadie was six year old girl and had been with the adoption centre for only a month. We don't know much about her, only that her life before the adoption centre was an extremely unpleasant one. For a while now me, Matt and Chris had felt like something was missing from our lives and none of us wanted to have a baby but having a kid to raise seemed fun and different.

We were all in the car on our way to the centre. "Right remember Chris be calm okay, not everyone is used to hyper people so just keep it chill for a while okay" I said knowing how Chris can be when he's excited. "I know I know". We arrived and spoke to the familiar reception lady who told us that she would bring out Sadie soon. She returned back within three minutes with a small girl hidden behind her. "Sadie this is your new family say hello" she spoke shoving the small girl out from behind her. Sadie had blonde hair in two little plaits and blue eyes that matched ours. She was wearing a denim dungaree dress and had a white bunny rabbit teddy in her hand. She looked at us slightly intimated but not terrified which was a good sign. She slowly walked over to us eyeing us up and down and we let her do so before we spoke. She then approached Matt and held out her white bunny to him. He took it carefully in his hands. "Oh thank you very much" He said slightly shocked. "Bunny likes you" she said smiling slightly. "Right please fill out these forms, here's Sadie's back pack and then your ready to go" the receptionist said holding out a small light pink rucksack which Chris took while I filled out the forms and Sadie stood staring at Matt. "Okay you're all good. Call us if you have any problems" the receptionist said. We all said thank you to her. Matt bent down to Sadie's level. "We're going to go to our car now so we can take you to our home and show you about would you like to hold my hand while we walk there?" Matt said smiling warmly. "No thank you I hold my bunny's hand" Sadie said politely taking her bunny back and holding its hand. I gave Matt a look of reassurance as we were not expecting her to warm to us instantly. Sadie walked in between us to the car and Chris opened the door for her to climb in to the seat we bought for her. I sat in the back with her while matt answered Chris was in the front. "I know all your names already" Sadie said smiling at us. "Really how's that?" I asked her. "Your names Nick, that's Matt and that's Chris. Mrs white showed me picture of you guys and told me your names to I practised" she said smiling. "Oh that's very sweet of you" Chris said turning around in his chair to give her a warm smile. The rest of the ride was pretty much silent until we reached our house. "This where you live?" She asked pointing to our house. "Yeah that's your new home" Matt said. "Oh very pretty"she smiled. Chris opened the door for her and held out his hand to help her climb out but she didn't take it and balanced herself and managed to get out all on her own. She walked cautiously behind us as we got to the door. When she walked in she instantly took off her shoes and put them by the door. Me ,Matt and Chris watched in awe. "Oh it's okay sweetie you don't always have to take off your shoes when you come in we don't always do it" I said smiling. "Oh" she said looking down fiddling with her fingers. "It's okay cmon we'll show you around" Chris said going up the stairs while she trailed on behind us. "Now we have a few different choice where you can sleep" Matt said. " you can go in the room on this floor the room upstairs or the room downstairs" Matt asked. "You only have three bedrooms?" She questioned with a confused expression on her face. "Uh yeah we do" Matt nodded. "So where will one of you sleep" she said genuinely confused about the situation. My heart melted from her concern towards us already. "Oh we don't mind sharing a room that's what we always did growing up". "I used to share my room with my brother too" she said. " oh you have a brother?" Chris asked. "Yes" she said looking down. "Was he older or younger than you?" I asked. " older by a year" she said staring to look more uncomfortable. We all noticed this and changed the topic. " how about we check out Matts room u think you'd like it to be yours." Chris said leading the way. After we showed her Matts room and she agreed to sleep in their me and Chris and Matt sat on the sofa while she sat on the floor by her own choice with her hands in her rucksack. "What did you bring in your rucksacks?" I asked her. She flinched harshly at my words shoving the bad behind her back. "N-nothing just some toys" she said her voice shaking. "Hey hey it's okay anything that you've brought in your bag we're not going to take away from you. It's your things to keep. We are just curious that's all" Matt said calmly moving to the floor so he was now opposite her. "Promise you won't be mad" she said looking down which is something we've noticed her do a lot. "Ofc we won't be mad honey" Matt smiled warmly. She turned the bag round to face us so we could see in. My heart dropped in sadness when is saw what was inside.
