You stand silently next to Matt and Nick, a tablet with their schedule clutched to your chest. The EVPs are busy chatting with a couple of guys from the production crew before Dynamite starts.
"YN," Matt calls your name and grabs your attention.
"Hmm? Yeah, boss?" You blink a couple of times before turning toward him.
Matt beckons you closer with a finger and you step over to him. "I've got a job for you, little lady." He informs you.
"Okay. What's up?" You nod, ready to listen.
"We've got a special guest hanging out in the VIP locker room. Will you go down there and see if he needs anything, please?" Matt asks you.
You nod and step back from the brothers, dismissing yourself with a courteous smile. You head off down to the VIP locker room and knock sharply on the door before entering.
"Hello?" You call out as you slowly crack the door open. "It's, YN? I'm here on behalf of Matt and Nick." You explain as you come through the door.
"It's alright, darlin', you can come in." A sweet country voice replies from somewhere inside the room.
Your eyes widen slightly in response to his reply as you shut the door behind you. You glance around the room and find the one and only Hangman Adam Page watching you from his chair.
"Adam Page?" You comment with slight surprise.
"In the flesh, darlin'." Page nods with an amused grin. "Matt and Nick didn't tell you who you were meeting?" He asks you.
You shake your head and linger by the door. "They just asked me to check up on their VIP." You explain. "Ask if you needed anything before the show."
"How nice of them. Especially sending a pretty little thing like you, to check up on me." Page grins to himself. "Come on, I don't bite." He beckons you further into the room.
You nod sheepishly and step further into the room under the Hangman's watchful eyes. He watches you cross the room so you're nearer to him with an amused grin.
"It was, YN, right?" He asks you. "That's what you said when you came in? You must be new. I'd like to think I'd of remember such a pretty face."
"I got hired last month." You nod again. "As Matt and Nick's new personal assistant."
Hangman nods thoughtfully at your explanation. He listens to you explain your job and nods along with you.
"Sounds like a coveted position. Do you like it?" He asks you curiously.
"It's a good job. Keeps me busy, and pays well." You answer honestly.
Hangman smiles at your answer, clearly amused by your conversation for some reason. "I bet." He quips.
You bounce on your heels, feeling nervous under Hangmans gaze for some reason.
"So, can I help you with anything before the show?" You ask him, fulfilling Matt and Nick's request.
"I'm alright, darlin'." Hangman shakes his head. "Thank you for asking, though. I appreciate the attention." He grins at you playfully.
Your breath catches in your throat at his words. That charming smile and the glint in his eyes makes your knee's feel weak under your weight.
"Right. Just...let me know if you need anything, sir." You nod at him.
"Sir?" Hangman quirks a brow at you. "Adam is just fine, darlin'. No need to be so formal." He assures you with a light chuckle.
You nod, feeling embarrassed for some unknown reason. "My bad. Have a good show, Adam." You smile at him and back up toward the door.
"You have a nice night as well, sweetheart." Page calls out as you slip through the door.
You step out into the hallway and take a deep breath in. "What the hell?" You breathe out, back braced against the wall while you compose yourself.
You head back to Matt and Nick to report that their VIP was fine for the night. Dynamite starts and you help out where you can.
The time comes for Hangman's match against Jeff Jarrett and you watch it intently from the back. You can't help but be mesmerized by Adam's strength and aggression. It's so different from the Adam Page you're used to seeing on TV. This isn't Adam Page, at all. Its, the Hangman.
After Dynamite ends, you gather your stuff and are about to leave for the night when Hangman happens through the backstage area. He spots you and saunters over with a curious glint in his eye.
"It was, YN, right?" Hangman comes to a stop about a foot from you. "Enjoy the show, darlin'?" He asks you with a grin.
You stare up at him, mouth slightly ajar. "It was a good show, yeah." You nod sheepishly.
"Matt told me earlier that you were watching my match with Jarrett." Hangman reveals. "How'd I do?"
"You were great." You nod again.
Hangman chuckles, amused by your meek demeanor. "Thanks, darlin'. Glad you had fun watching me."
"Y-yeah." You stutter out a reply.
"Anyway, I'll let you get out of here." Hangman grins and steps out of your way. "I'll be seeing you around, YN." He adds, your name dripping off his tongue in a way that sends a shiver up your spine.
You nod and hurry off before you say something to embarrass yourself. And you can feel Hangman's eyes on you as you retreat.
Page watches you go with an amused smile. Oh, this is going to be so much fun for him.
