Sarah was driving on her way to work but silence filled her car, the only thing she could hear was the ringing noise from her ear to head. Ever since Courtney left she rarely played any music as there was no interest from the brown hair girl. But it wouldn't hurt just to listen while driving, besides work was already shitty enough for her. "No, eh no. Boring, ooh maybe..never mind." Nothing good was playing on the radio until she accidentally stumbled upon a metal station.
"Holy shit..that actually sounds good." Sarah turned up the volume and nodded her head along. "That was Motorbreath from the one and only Metallica. Up next we go..." Sarah turned off the car arriving to work. She already knew her plans after work.
"You're fucking late Sarah!" Sarah's boss, Dylan was a bit old and had some problems with his heart but that didn't stop him from being a huge asshole. "I'm not late, it's only 8:45 and I start my shift at 8:44 am. Calm down you old hippie." Rolling her eyes and grabbed her work hat that came with an apron. You guessed it, she worked at a fast food restaurant. Not the best, but helped her pay off rent. "You better work twice as hard, you hear me?" Dylan grabbed her cheeks glaring at her. "Fuck you." Sarah slapped his hand away, pushing him into the counter starting her work shift.
Out of 30 employees, he always decided to be more bitchy towards her. Made he was just jealous of how amazing Sarah is, he wished to be her. Anyways, her work was the same as always. Clean tables, set up the cashier, serve food to everyone then finally clock out and go home. Luckily, today was different.
After hours of slaving away, Sarah drove to the closest record store near her apartment. There was over 100 music record, no way was she going to find Metallic in less than an hour. "Hey, excuse me." Fred the employee looked up to Sarah. "Yes?" It was awkward for Sarah to communicate or socialize without having Courtney or anyone that was close to her. "I was wondering where I could find umm the band Metallk-Metallica?" She was having trouble with pronouncing the band so her face turned red from embarrassment. "Metallica. Yeah go down to the Metal section and the 4th rack should have it there. Let me know if you need more help." Sarah gave him a quiet thanks with a nod walking towards the Metal section.
Oh! Finally found Metallica after 20 minutes! There was three albums released by them. 'Kill 'Em All' the original version and deluxe, 'Ride the Lightning' and 'Master of Puppets' each album costs about $16-$20 (I made that up idk how much it would've cost back then ;-; but they were hella popular so yeah.) Not being able to decided, she grabbed all three using the left over money she kept in her pocket $120 was enough. "here's the change." "Thanks." Sarah grabbed the receipt and turned on her car couldn't wait to listen to the new band she just heard of.
Sarah had a lot of great reactions to the albums, enjoying every single song that was being played. This made her itch for music once again finding her passion. Running to her storage room to find her black bass guitar. After carefully examining the instrument, she strummed the strings. Everything felt nostalgic as she played some chords getting used to the feeling of the strings and pressing down her calloused fingers. She quickly relearned how to play and found love for music all because of Metallica.
"Hey, Dylan. I fucking quit your dumbass job." She slammed the phone off not letting her boss utter a single word. Being a musician was her new career for the rest of her life. With or without Courtney, it was time she moved on but still held love for her even thought she hasn't been seen in months.
It sounded crazy.
But maybe it was just meant to be after all.
