Evie Cassidy Buckley went to Chicago for a firefighters conference, she went alone as she's trying to up her knowledge on firefighting. She took a total of two shifts off which gave her a week in Chicago. The brass was happy to give her the time off to further her knowledge. While at the conference she meets a single dad that's the lieutenant of squad 3, the one and only Kelly Severide.

Kelly Severide has a 12 year old daughter named Mia Elizabeth Sevierde. She was the product of a one night stand almost 13 years ago now, but her mom Allie Fitzgerald died during childbirth leaving Kelly with Mia. He stepped up and became the father Mia deserves. Shay was a big help until she died four years ago now. Kelly spiraled but thanks to Casey and Mia he got back on track.

He hasn't really dated anyone in years. He had a fling with Stella but then she left for girls on fire and now Casey and Brett live in Portland, there's not much keeping the silver haired man in Chicago.

So when he meets the tall blonde blue eyed woman that is absolutely breathtaking and badass, he decides to ask her out. So currently they are eight months into a relationship. Kelly would travel to LA once a month to be with Evie, sometimes Mia would tag along, sometimes she'd stay with the Herman's. Evie would also visit at least once if not twice a month. Now Evie is faced with being 8 weeks pregnant and she's spiraling, thinking Kelly won't want another kid even though she knows he does. She also thinks it might be too fast, but she knows things feel right between her and Kelly.

She knows Kelly and Mia are coming in a few days for spring break, so she'll just talk to Kelly then.

Evie quickly gets ready to head to work, she's gotta tell Bobby asap so she can be the man left behind. Cause as much as she loves her job she's not going to risk her child's safety for it.

She also makes an appointment for the following day after shift, the appointment is for 11am so she'll have time to get ready after work.

Evie texts Kelly good morning, he does the same and tells her he has a surprise for her.

She doesn't get that text though until she's changed and walks up the steps of the loft at the firehouse.

She looks up from her phone to see her family surrounding a big bouquet of sunflowers and peonies, her favorite!

"Hey are those for me?" She asks with a soft smile.

"Dunno can't find the card in this thing." Chim answers.

"Move aside." She says as she goes directly in the middle and fishes out a card.

Evie.

Is written in the front of the card

"I guess they are for you." Chim mutters

Hen asks "how did you know?"

"They are my favourite flowers so lucky guess." Evie shrugs as she opens the card.

Evie,

Munchkin and I land tomorrow at 6am let me know if you want us to come to the station or meet at your loft.

Evie smiles softly at the card and Eddie notices, this must me someone important to his best friend.

Evie quickly takes out her phone snaps a pic of the arrangement and sends it to Kelly saying

"Thank you for the surprise! Can't wait to see you both! Come to the station. Xoxox"

"So who is this K person and whose munchkin?" Hen asks with a raised eyebrow with Chim nodding wanting to know who this person is, as he smacks his gum.
