Explaining her extended stay, she holds up the paperwork slightly. "I had some paperwork to finish. I figured it would be best to do it now rather than in the morning and risk falling behind."

Acknowledging her dedication, Ethan discloses his own late-night agenda. "I also have some paperwork and calls to make before leaving. Let me know before you go. I don't want you leaving the building alone. I will walk you to your car," he asserts, walking into his office without waiting for her response.
