Y/N's POV
I hummed softly, listening to the music from my headphones, sipping on a cup of coffee I got from the cafe a few stores down. Heading back to the theater, I was ready to see Buster and go with him to talk with Eddie about our next idea for a show. Yes, I knew Mr. Moon, how? I'm his sister, of course. Well, adopted sister. Our dad apparently had found me abandoned in an alley, with nothing except a blanket to keep me safe from the cold and a necklace which I still wore to this day. Nobody knew nothing of my parents, but I didn't care. I had a happy life with Buster so I couldn't complain...for the most part. I kept mostly to myself since others weren't very fond of me for what I was. I was often pushed around and treated like the black sheep of the world. As far as I knew, there weren't hardly any humans left, and well, most animals thought I was a freak because of it. When I was little, I was often bullied and got easily upset by the way others treated me but as I grew older, I kind of accepted it thinking I couldn't be anything else and I tried to just blend in the shadows the best I could.
I often wore clothes that hid what my looks were, despite the heat even if it was unbearable some days. Even with this, some of the locals knew who I was, and still went out of their way to push me around, which I tried to avoid usually, but at other times it was hard to. Like in this moment when I accidentally bumped into someone and fell on my bum, causing us both to grunt as the rhino I bumped into got pushed over to the side, and coffee to go all over his shirt. "Hey, watch where you're going, freak!!" he shouted, and I flinched, causing my hood to fall down others stopped to stare. "Sorry I-I didn't mean -" I stuttered only for the Rhino to huff loudly, making me close my mouth. "Great, you spilled coffee on my brand new shirt, and I have a job interview to go to..what are you going to do about it, huh ugly?" he sheathed, picking me up by the front of my hoody and lifting me in the air. "I-I'm sorry, I can pay you back..." I stuttered, making the rhino scoff. "We all know you and Moon don't have any money. That's why that theater of yours is sitting there in dust." He growled and threw me down, making me grunt at the impact of the ground, and I frowned as footsteps came our way and a gorilla with a green shirt and leather jacket came in between us. "Hey, what's going on?" he asked, and I frowned, sitting up. "None of your concern, mate. This freak bumped into me and ruined my shirt. Now I can't go to an interview looking like this!!" he shouted angrily, and the gorilla looked down at me. "Is that what happened?" he asked, and I frowned. "I-I-It was an accident...I didn't see where I was going and bumped into him... I offered to pay for it, but he refused." I explained, and the gorilla frowned and hummed,"Why you little- you're helping her?!" the rhino shouted as the gorilla offered his hand out to me, which I hesitated to take, the rhino storming off in anger.
"Ignore him...it was clearly an accident. Are you okay?" he asked, and I looked at him, surprised. "I-uh.. yeah, I'm fine.. thank you..uh..." I trailed off, and he smiled. "Johnny. My name is Johnny. What's your name?" he asked making me smile small, taking his hand as he helped me up off the ground, thinking that nobody other than Buster, his dad, and Miss Crawly has ever really been this nice to me. "Oh, (Y/N)...(Y/N) Moon... and thank you, Johnny. I appreciate your help." I said smiling, and his eyes widened. "Wait... Moon? Like The Moon Theater?" he asked, and I nodded, smiling. "Yeah.. my brother owns it, and I'm the co-owner.. I was on my way there, actually." I said, and he grinned. "That's wicked. I love the shows put on there. My mum used to take me when I was a kid. I can walk you there if you like.. s-so nobody gives you any more trouble. I got nothing better else to do anyway..." I placed my hands in my hoodie pocket and smiled,"Oh uh.. if you want. I'd be fine, though, on my own. It's not much further." I said, making him smile. "Yeah, but what kind of guy would I be if I let a lady like you walk alone?" he asked, and I smirked small. "You're a smooth guy, Johnny. Alright, let's go." I giggled, making him also chuckle softly as we turned and walked to the theater.
