"Seriously? You've been blanking out ever since you woke up, " 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗔 announced with a concern tone after going down the train as satyrs took our stuff from our hands.
I sighed, before speaking "You don't have to worry about me sunbeam, seriously, nightmares to people like us are normal." I reasoned, which only made Hana squint her eyes on me, "You can't lie to me unnie, you are like the oracle of delphi, you see- see! The future!" she yelled, making some students turn to us, which I waved them off before facing my half sister.
"Hana-yah, I'll tell you soon but not now alright." At this point she gave up before we walked off towards the carriage that would be taking us to the academy, "You'll be the first one to know alright?" I added, to which she smiled.
When the long-awaited break finally came to an end, I found myself back at the pristine grounds of Valencia Academy, a home and safety for Demigods. The air was alive with the electric energy of reunions and the anticipation of another thrilling year. I scanned the sea of faces for one in particular, my heart pounding with excitement. A few moments later, I spotted Chaemin, the demigod son of Nyx, running towards me with open arms.
Chaemin, at the tender age of eighteen, was like a brother to me. His eyes, as dark as the night ruled by his mother Nyx, sparkled with excitement. With a joyful yell, Chaemin sprinted towards me, his arms wide open. I laughed, embracing him tightly.
"Hosu-hyung!" He exclaimed, his voice filled with warmth. "I missed you!"
Once the hugs and greetings were exchanged, I had the pleasure of gifting Chaemin a camera. A broad smile spread across his face as his eyes widened with wonder. Photography was his passion, and I knew this particular camera would be perfect for him. It was enchanted to avoid detection by malevolent monsters, ensuring his safety. The delicate silver filigree around the lens glimmered in the sunlight, a testament to its magical properties.
"Oh, hyung!" Chaemin exclaimed, "A thousand thanks! It's simply divine!" He whirled around, snapping a picture of a nearby statue, his laughter echoing throughout the courtyard, before running out of my sight.
As I watched him move about, capturing moments with his new gift, I felt a warm sense of satisfaction. My contentment, however, was short-lived. Suddenly, a sharp clap of thunder rumbled through the air, and I spun around just in time to see Haruki, demigod son of Nemesis, looming behind me, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
"Got you," he teased, laughing at my startled expression.
"Haruki!" I exclaimed, suppressing a laugh. "You scared me!" I smacked his arms as he continued laughing.
"Sorry princess, couldn't help it," he replied, his grin never wavering. "So, how was your summer vacation?"
We traded stories, me going shopping on a cruise, and no monster obviously following, monsters rarely chase children of Hebe because they are useless, according to some teachers. As Haruki continued to regale me with his so called boring summer break (how is it boring when he went to camp-half blood as a representative of our school and mentored a couple of campers?), a petite student from my dorm HOME OF HESTIA approached us timidly.
She stumbled over her words, her cheeks flushing a deep crimson as she uttered the dreaded words, '"Prince Adonis is looking for you, Hosu." before leaving again.
Feeling a knot forming in my stomach, I said farewell to Haruki. I took a few steps away before a sudden impulse drove me to turn around and plant a farewell kiss on his cheek. He stood in the courtyard, stunned, "I'll see you later, prince charming." and I fled towards the office of Prince Adonis.
𝚂𝚎𝚘 𝙷𝚢𝚞𝚗𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚔 - 𝙰𝙴𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁'𝚂 𝚃𝙾𝚆𝙴𝚁 - 𝟷:𝟶𝟶 𝚙𝚖 "We have plenty of new students, Prefect Seo," Mistress Lily told me as we stood on the balcony of the tower, Aether's tower to be exact, watching as some new and old faces entered the tower, others are in awe while the others... are well bored. "I trust you to handle them perfectly, just like the previous year." She continued talking and stop looking below, looking over to my face as I looked away from below and turned to face her. "I assure you mistress, they'll be in good hands, I'll try talking to Hana noona if she could help me." I replied, Mistress Lily let out a smile before patting my back.
"Let's walk and talk, I have some things to discuss with you, regarding the rumors happening in the academy." she told me before walking away, leaving me dumbfounded before I ran up to her side as we walked down and into the Garden of Aether that was being guarded by gorgons.
"School is just about to start in a week and rumors already, mistress?" I asked as we entered the garden, she sighed before answering, "It's from the underworld, child." I stopped walking, letting out a quiet 'what'. "The god of the dead himself reported last summer solstice during the olympus council meeting that tartarus stirs, it's like monsters from the very depths of the underworld are trying to set themselves free. Rumors like this spread fast, you know." She ended the sentence after plucking out a dead flower from the garden.
"Why are you telling me this?" I blurted out, "because this is about Aether, child." she uttered as I was about to ask another question again. "All other prefects have been warned, because the chaos, child of the prophecy has entered the academy. We are not safe." She turned to me again, handing me a red rose, dead.
"You of all people, shall know Aether and his history, son of Eros. Report to us immediately if there has been any suspicious activities in the dorm alright. I'm sure that child of his would want to stay at the dorm with their father's name." The former lieutenant of Artemis stated, and I answered with a small nod of my head. "Very well, shall we head back to the tower?" She questioned before I shook my head. "Can I stay here for a while, mistress? I'll be back immediately." She gave me a confused look before nodding and leaving me inside the garden.
I look at the red rose in my hand, "Hyung can you hear me?" I whispered into the air.
The red rose came back to life, as if it wasn't about to fall apart minutes ago.
