Chapter 8 Why do you want to be a guardian?

Back at Plantroph which has completely dried out, Eternal bested 4 powerful legends, and tied them up in shadow binds with tight grip from Lucinda's telekinesis, however Eternal insisted on killing them, so he defeated all of them at once. Except for Ven. Relentlessly he fought harder and harder than he did before and blasted everything in his power. Eternal formed a dangerous and powerful dragon named Hydra with Ven's shadows and used it against him, however Ven obliterated Hydra with one slash of his hand, and swiftly blows the blue flames directly at Eternal. Suddenly a mysterious spark hits Eternal's face, he looked closely to the left to get a clearer vision of what just hit him. Without a doubt, the Eldest appeared. "You betrayed me into thinking we could fix this." The Eldest growled. "I am." Eternal said back "but not with you." Eternal struck the Eldest and Ven down, in just a flash, and goes with the full intent to kill, until... Bushin interrupted the battle "Stay away from Mom and Dad." Bushin said angrily. Eternal smirked at his courage and thought he is foolish to see who he is up against. Without a doubt Eternal would defeat Bushin in one second, until suddenly, he starts slowing down. Toby was the one holding him back from making a move, "Not today sir." But then a glitch suddenly knocked him, and when he looked at where he's been hit, he saw Argus, and taunted him to fight back. While Bushin defends his father and the others from Eternal, Glen had a tactical strategy to defeat him. "Hey Alina." Called Glen, "You think you can use the frenzy roots on him." Alina looked at her hands glowing yellow, then turns to Glen. "I'm thinking what you're thinking." Then Alina lassoed her arms that turned into thorns at Eternal's wrist as he was about to land a punch on Bushin. Eternal cut off the thorn and blasts gamma energy at them, but Glen absorbed all of it with his bare hand giving Alina and himself enough time and power to outsmart Eternal with their strategy. Meanwhile Jordan, Lynn, Sid, Casper, and Terran fought off many Deceivers, few of them are lost in battle while many of them are killed, and other half of them burnt alive by Lydia's fiery flare and Lucas' beam. After all of them are beaten. Jordan sensed that Bushin, Glen and Alina are in Plantroph, he shifted himself to the planet he once visited only to see it completely lifeless. Jordan then saw Eternal beating Bushin down and strangling Glen. Jordan had no choice but to fight Eternal himself. He released his full power. In doing so he flooded the entire planet with Auroras, and used it as a wave to trap Eternal, plus the blue green aura surrounded him and turned into an Orca. He didn't give Eternal a chance to escape from the wave. He attacked him harder and harder like he's playing volleyball. Eternal whilst getting hit was able to drain that Aura and use his powers against him. Its attacks are extremely strong, but it disappeared when Eternal pierced its defenses. Jordan controlled the waves to avoid him from getting closer. Eternal absorbed all the wave, thus increasing his speed, strength, and power. Toby and Argus battle each other using the same moves, same glitch, and same hand to hand combat skill. "You've gotten stronger young Toby." Argus replied with surprise. "I've been living my whole life for this." Toby said roughly. 

The two brothers fight relentlessly against each other, and when Toby let Argus win, he glitched Argus so he wouldn't think about running. Their fight ended up in a draw after. Jordan lost to Eternal yet again, and this time, Eternal brings himself to kill Jordan, right before his hand descended to Jordan, Glen shoots a dark energetic beam directly at Eternal. 

Causing his body to fade slowly when it hits him, Toby fasts forward the effect so Eternal will cease to exist again. They think they won the battle, but once they saw Eternal, they notice it's just a trick. Eternal finally could get what he needed, and Argus left with him. Glen once he got up eventually realizes that Alina was gone, until he saw her injured Glen ran to her and holds her as she fell to the ground. Awoke Alina found herself in the clinic with an injured arm. 

Sid was relieved that she's awake and well, but thanks to her severe injury it will take at least 3 days for her to recover. Inside a room full of spared parts, Glen leaned against the wall, thinking about what happened to Alina. Glen was called by Sid to visit Alina, but Glen responded, "No thanks." Sid gets closer to Glen and comforts him saying kindly "It's ok Glen, it's not your fault." Sid holds Glen's hand walking from the room full of spare parts, past by Boris, to the clinic where Alina is lying down on her bed. Sid leaves the two alone so they can talk, but she didn't really leave even when she sealed the door, she puts her head against the wall so she could hear what they're saying. "Glen." Said Alina. "Don't blame this on yourself, I made a choice to come as well, Boris, Ellen, we all did." Glen said back "Yeah, but I'm the one who brought you guys into all this, you wouldn't be here if I agree to let you come, the outside world out there would've killed you, like it nearly killed Lydia fighting a possessed blood shedding tourist." "Glen I- "No Alina" Continued Glen "I just thought it would be easy to protect everyone unharmed, but because you're hurt, this is all me, I came to this ship so I could protect everyone at all costs, and even tried avoiding you these past 2 years so you could be safe, like I promised your family to. With shock Alina realized he kept her family secret from her for a long time, she said to him "Is that what this is about? You agree with my family to stay away from me, just so I can be safe?" Then she sighed "I can't believe it! Why did you have to lie Glen I thought we promise not to keep secrets from each other since we were 10?" 

"Because you aren't honest to me either." Glen answered. "You always hide many things from me by saying everything's alright when you know it wasn't." For the first time Casper and Sid heard Glen and Alina arguing about the promise they made, Jordan walking down the corridor felt worried for them. "This isn't good." Said Casper. "Not every friendship always ends well, they all fight sometimes. Just like You and Terran." Sid said back. After a while Glen and Alina stopped fighting, they're not seeing each other or talking to each other anymore. Sid, Casper, and Jordan act normal by pretending to have a conversation, when both Glen and Alina walked out, then transferred to another room, which is the storage full of spare parts. There Glen and Alina started having the same conversation, only then their tone has changed "I'm sorry I yelled at you Glen. Alina apologized "Me too" Glen apologized back. "It's just, I thought- It's not like I came this far to be the... hero or anything." Glen suddenly got intrigued with the word hero, and he repeated "Hero?" "Yeah." Said Alina. "I used to hear stories that, my parents and uncle Pete were the heroes, they fight together, they protect people in need. And most of all, they protect each other like families. I admire people like them, they inspire me to be one too, until Uncle Pete died in the war, and became the hero everyone will remember."

"Woah he's a legend alright. Wait... Is that why your parents told you to stay in your room to keep you safe from harm?"

Glen summarized

"That was until I saw you. Your courage motivated me to follow that dream again." Alina claimed, "I don't want anything bad happening to them like it did to my uncle." "You felt that way too, don't you?" Glen turned away from Alina denying that he cared about his sister. "Well. If that's my sister, I don't think so." Dusk and Dawn meanwhile checked the radar scanner in case of anything coming near the Vulture when Apollo brought Ellen to them so she can have someone to look after her. The twins are very happy to see her, but mostly in shock knowing that they're uncle and aunt to Ellen. Apollo then walks straight to Ven who appears to be watching the stars. "So. If you won't look after your daughter anymore, then who will?" Ven asked calmly. "I was thinking I would leave her to Saturn I guess she's one step close to a mother after all." Ven slowly turns his head slightly to the left to see his home planet damaged, therefore knowing that his home is gone. But Ven has something else he concerns about. He learned that his best friend and former ally is going to die, and he can't do anything to tell his family about it. For Jordan and Bushin, they both help Skaman and his gang repair the ship's engine while talking about the box message that Jordan broke. "So, about that box, why did you break it?" Bushin asked. "I don't know really." Jordan replied. "I was happy, and kinda confused at the same time when I finally got what I desired to achieve. It's like when people were young, they always wanted to grow up and reach their dreams, then as they got older, they start to feel some sort of... sadness, like they miss what it's like to be young." Bushin thinks about it, and he said,

"It usually depends on what they choose." "They were like if I got what I wanted, then why am I not happy?" "That's something a few might ask themselves."

"I guess people keep pushing themselves too hard to achieve their goals that they didn't realize it also takes a lot of sacrifice to get it" Jordan said with realization.
