Scout stepped out of the liquor store bathroom, feeling the smoothness of the suit he had taken more than twenty minutes to put on. Wow... He ran his hands along the sleeves, feeling them glide along the stripes. Now this is clothing! He brushed out the wrinkles on his blazer. I can see why Spy didn't want me having it. Scout grinned at the thought. And yet I still stole it from him. He chuckled a little under his breath and the worker at the store turned her head from the counter, her eyes widening.
"Wow, nice suit." She complimented Scout, who scoffed.
"What, this old thing?" He pulled at the cuffs of his suit. "It's just a little something I pulled out of the closet."
The woman rolled her eyes and smiled. "Where'd you get it from?"
Scout hesitated for a moment. "Uh y'know, I got this on an overseas trip to..." Come on, what's a fancy city... "Paris." Scout flashed a smile. "And y'know, bought this from one of the finest suit makers in the world. Because I have so much money."
The girl he was slowly approaching didn't seem convinced at all, but still looked intrigued. She nodded for him to continue.
"Yeah so... bought this super expensive suit, then all of the sudden, these guys came out of nowhere, yeah? And they wanted to rob me! So I stood like this-" he altered his stance to match one of Saxton Hale's comic book poses. "And then I said 'You messed with the wrong man.',
and punched one really hard. Then I used my awesome acrobatic skills to backflip and land behind another guy, who I also punched, and-"
The woman broke out into laughter. Scout stopped and watched her. She collected herself enough to speak.
"Did you... really do all that?" She chuckled.
Scout looked taken aback. "What? Yeah! Of course I did! Here, let me show you." He got back into the power stance and was ready to launch himself off the ground.
"Scout?"
He whipped around to where the sound came from, and saw Miss Pauling standing in the doorway; wearing a beautiful flowing purple dress and a handbag at her side. Scout shifted to a normal stance. Wow...
She beaconed for him to leave the store, and he obliged, giving the woman in the store one last thumbs up. She ushered him away from the store and they walked along the sidewalk.
"Where did you get that suit? It looks like Spy's." She eyed him. Scout straightened his stance.
"It is." He started. Miss Pauling raised a brow. "He let me use it for today."
She scoffed. "Really?" Scout watched her for a moment before nodding. She looked back ahead. "I guess it isn't impossible..."
They both walked in silence towards the restaurant until Miss Pauling turned to Scout again.
"Now, keep in mind we need to stay professional here." She stopped walking a block away from the restaurant. "We need to act like normal people having a normal day together. So just try to have some class."
Scout eyed her perfectly kept hair. "Yeah. Yeah I get that. Don't worry, Scout is a master of class." He straightened his tie before they both walked forwards again.
Upon reaching the restaurant Scout could see all the individuals inside. They were all dressed very nicely. But not as nice as me. A smug smile crossed his face as they entered. His smile dropped once he actually looked at the interior. Beautiful gold patterns snaked every pillar, the lighting gleamed and made the place glow, and the carpet didn't have a single stain. Woah...
