I slowed down as we reached the next obstacle. I took my jacket off and tied it around my waist, I had a tank top under it. I came prepared.

"Do you plan on crawling across?" Todoroki asked me.

"You got a better idea?" I crossed my arms.

"I was just going to use my ice to carry me across." He said bluntly.

He stepped onto one of the wires, freezing his feet in place. I stepped on after him, but I slipped and fell off.i grabbed onto the wire and hung from it.

"Aizawa, are you alright?" He asked me. I nodded, trying not to look down. If I fell, I would fall into the abyss. Who knows what's down there.

I used some quick thinking and grabbed onto Todoroki's ankle. "Let's go!" I shouted. He nodded and used his quirk to slide across the wires.

"Looks like Todoroki is still skating by easily! Wait, is that Izumi on his leg?" Mic announced.

As Todoroki made it to the other side, I let go of his leg and pulled myself up onto the ledge.

We both started running again, Bakugo not too far behind us. He was using his quirk to blast himself forward.

"You suck!" Bakugo shouted out. Who is he talking about?

We kept running forward. I don't plan on winning. I plan on beating those idiots who crowded around our class.

We finally reached the third and final obstacle. A... minefield? Todoroki and I shared a look.

"And now, we're finally approaching the last obstacle. Everyone had better tread carefully. You're stepping onto a minefield!" Mic announced.

"If you look carefully, you can see where those little bombs are buried, so keep your eyes on the ground, folks." Mic advised.

"By the way, those land mines were designed for the games, so they might be loud and flashy, but they're not all that powerful. Just enough to make you wet your pants!" Mic shouted.

"Get ahold of yourself." My father sighed.

Todoroki and I ran across the field, trying to avoid the mines. It's actually harder than it looks.

Bakugo started catching up. Shit. I don't want to lose to him!

"Heh, bastard! Your declaration of war was to the wrong person!" Bakugo blasted at Todoroki. I barely dodged the blast.

"Just like that, a new student takes the lead! The media here is going crazy! There's nothing they love more than an upset!" Mic announced.

"Hey, hey, hey, the rest of the competitors are catching up too! And what's this? Can our three leaders fight each other and stay in front of the competition?" Mic tried to add onto the suspense.

Bakugo and Todoroki used their quirks against each other while I tried to avoid the blasts that accidentally came my way. I could hear yelling in the background as mines went off.

Suddenly, a giant explosion went off in the back. What the hell?

"What's with that giant explosion in the back!? That's way more powerful than it should be!" Mic announced. He took the words right out of my mouth.

"Incredible!" Mic shouted.

I screamed and started running faster as Midoriya started flying at us.

"Run!" I pushed Todoroki. I heard ringing in my ears.

Todoroki grabbed my wrist, and I jumped onto his back. He used an ice path to get across the field. Bakugo blasted himself across with his quirk.

"Look at that plot twist! Those two aren't fighting anymore. They're chasing Midoriya! And is that Aizawa on Todoroki's back!? Did they form a pact while running!? What's happening!?" Mic shouted.

"That's what's having a common enemy will do in this competition! This fight is still far from over, though!" Mic announced.

Midoriya fell in front of us. Suddenly, he smacked this metal piece right next to us and set off a few mines!

I got off Todoroki's back and continued running. I ran past Todoroki and Bakugo. Are you kidding me!? Midoriya... you blasted my jacket away! You asshole!

"I don't believe it. He cleared that minefield in an instant! Eraser head, your students are amazing! What the heck are you teaching them!?" Mic shouted.

I pushed myself to run faster. My dad was watching. I want to make him proud.

"This has nothing to do with me. Each of them is powered by their own drive to succeed." My dad said. I caught up and ran side by side with Midoriya.

"There you have it! Eraser head is a terrible teacher!" Mic said, making me giggle.

"I'm what!?" Damn. He sounded pissed.

We ran through the tunnel, and Todoroki and Bakugo used their quirks. Midoriya and I made eye contact. We were head to head. I sighed. I feel bad. He looks so determined to win.

Fine. I'll give him this.

"The first to make it back into the stadium is the first place winner! Izuku Midoriya is our champion!" Mic announced.

I walked up beside him. I took second place.

"Good job, Midoriya." I held my hand out to him.

He turned around and shook it, "Good job, Izumi." He sniffled. Strangely, I don't feel upset about letting him win. His expression... makes me feel... nice.

I shook hands with Todoroki, "Good job, friend."

He nodded, "You too."

"Hey, Izu-chan!" I heard someone call me from the stands. I looked up and saw Maho.

"Hey, Ma-chan!" I waved to her.

"You did so good! You keep winning, and I'll keep cheering!" She shouted.

"Ok, I will!" I giggled. She was so sweet.

"I love you!" She made a heart with her hands. My smile grew larger.

"I love you too!" I made a heart with mine.

I felt a pair of eyes on me, so I turned around. Todoroki was standing next to me, staring at the two of us.

"Did you need something?" I asked.

"Do you know her?" He asked. I nodded.

"Are you guys... dating?" He asked.

"What!? No! No! She's single. I'm single! We are not dating! I mens there's nothing wrong if we were but we aren't! She's my childhood friend!" I explained, blushing. Who just assumes things like that!?

I brushed my hair out of my face. I was sweating badly. I should've brought a hair tie.

"The first game for the first years is finally over, and what a game it was. Now let's take a quick look at the standings, shall we?" Midnight said.

"Here." A hand placed a hair tie in mine. I looked and saw a short brunette. She was so cute!

"Thank you..." Oh shit. What's her name??

"Kana Nishimoto." The girl bowed.

"Thank you, Nishimoto." I smiled.

"Izumi Aizawa." I bowed as well.

"Your friends with Bushida?" She asked. I nodded.

"I've known her all my life." I said, smiling. She nodded.

"I'm in the support course. We sit together at lunch. I'm one of the students working on your ear things." She said. Her voice was so soft.

"Really?" I asked. She nodded.

"I try to get it to you as fast as I can!" She held a determined expression.

"You don't have to do that!" I put my hair up into a ponytail.

"I don't have to, but I want to. It is for a friend, after all." She smiled at me.

I smiled back, "Yeah, a friend."

A friend...
