[1] - Not Your Average Teenage Girl
"Sophie, wake up it's time for school!" My mom said while banging on my door since I can't depend on an alarm to wake me up.
I got dressed in a black band t-shirt and some ripped skinny jeans with some black vans. I straightened my hair and did my makeup and went downstairs for breakfast.
I walked to the kitchen aisle and sat on the counter as my mom put fresh waffles and bacon on my plate.
"I made your favorite, sweetheart." My mom says handing me my plate with a smile.
"Thanks mom, where's dad?" I said with a mouth full of food as I devour my food hungrily.
"He went out of town for a business trip." She says with a sigh. I guess it's kind of lonely in the house without him since my brother went to college last year.
"Oh okay well I better go now or I'll be late to school." I grabbed my penny board and ride down the sidewalk since the school is like two blocks over.
I walked into school with an extra five minutes to kill where my two best friends greeted me.
"Hey babe, good morning!" My best friend, Dani said to me while looping my arm with hers. She has brown curly hair with green eyes and she's really pretty and she is boy obsessed and is head over heels over her boyfriend, David.
"Looking like a bad bitch, like always." My friend Tyler says. He has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes and he is on the football team he is pretty popular and funny. We are great friends and he's the guy I can be all tom boyish around and not be judged.
"Hey there. Dani always looking for her boyfrie--"
"Ooh! There he is! Chat later!" She says as she practically sprints to her boyfriend.
"And how are you on this lovely morning, Ty?" I said averting my attention to him with a smile.
"Good just great. Are you coming to the game tomorrow, Soph?" He says while saying hi to people in the halls as we pass them.
"You bet! How can I not support my best friend?" I say with a duh look on my face.
The bell finally rings and we part our separate ways and I head to class.
I basically zoned out of all my classes. The bell rings and before I know it it's the end of the day and I grab my skateboard out of my locker and ride home.
"Mom I'm home!" I shout as I walk in the door.
"In here!" She shouted from the kitchen. I follow the smell of food and find her in the kitchen making spaghetti, my favorite.
"When does Dad come back?" I ask as I grab a plate full of spaghetti and sit at the kitchen table.
"Monday. He just called and said he has exciting news but he wants to wait until he gets home to tell us." My mom says with a nervous smile.
I'm a bit suspicious since my dad is unpredictable, one time he came home from a business trip and came home with a bunny. He's a manager at Treyarch, a famous video gaming company. I don't know how he got a bunny and why.
Anyway, I finish dinner and told my mom I was going upstairs to do my homework. I got a couple of texts from Dani telling me about how sweet her boyfriend is and blah, blah, blah. I don't mean to be rude but she talks about him 24/7. I also got a group text from Tyler and the football team inviting me to a party Friday night after the game, and of course Dani was involved and is forcing me to go.
Before I knew it, it was 10 pm and tomorrow was Friday so I know I have a busy day ahead of me. I usually love to party but I hate intoxicated horny teenage guys always trying to get in my pants and I have to act like a damsel in distress because they are normally stronger than me and I have to get some random guy to save me and in return what does he want? Ding! Sex. Nooo thanks.
I'm usually not a buzzkill but I like to stay sober so I can be my friend's designated driver. But being friends with the captain of the football player people kind of have expectations for you to be slutty and wild. As you can tell I like to fight the stereotypes.
I turn my phone off and lie in bed as I think of the wild day ahead of me and how I can try to convince Dani not to let me go to her party. This is going to be tough.
